Chrissy Teigen Threw Some Serious Shade After A Troll Said John Legend Looked 'Like A Fool' At The Grammys
Like all award shows, the 62nd Annual Grammy Music Awards seem to be as much about the outfits worn as the awards given out.
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend did not disappoint in the clothing department.
But taking risks with the wardrobe, for all the heads it turns, provokes savage trolling. Even if you're John Legend.
Teigen and Legend, married since 2013, appeared at Grammys 2020 wearing a couple asymmetrical spectacles.
Unsurprisingly, Chrissy Teigen stole the show.
Her bright orange dress dazzled with wispy layers and plenty of skin exposed.
Subtler Legend, who began the night with 10 Grammy wins and 30 nominations under his belt, didn't totally blend in himself.
His sleek, unbalanced Alexander McQueen-designed getup was all shine and textures.
But despite the warm reception of camera flashes and interviews along the red carpet, the internet has its own views about fashion.
Especially John Legend's fashion, apparently.
One Twitter user unleashed some tactful criticisms of Legend's look.
my boyfriend said βtweet chrissy teigen and ask her why the hell she let john walk out the house looking like a fooβ¦ https://t.co/CoBXxGqmOEβ Anna Mitchell (@Anna Mitchell) 1580099438.0
Note a couple things about that tweet.
First, she doesn't take full responsibility for the trolling. She insulates herself by quoting her boyfriend's judgment, opting to play the mere messenger.
The troll is hesitating, she's exposing a weakness that Chrissy Teigen will absolutely pounce on.
But make no mistakeβthis is absolutely a troll move, as much about garnering a response as sharing a legitimate critique.
That's clear when she tags Chrissy Teigen, inviting a clap back from the clap back whiz herself.
That glowing orange dress apparently left full mobility and access to her phone, as Ms. Teigen was quick with a counter punch.

Chrissy Teigen, fending off trolls even in the middle of the Grammys.
Twitter loved the back and forth.

The original troll had absolutely no problem being taken to task either.
@annamitchell328/Twitter
But Legend, in fact, gets the last laugh here.
While this whole spat was going on, he was busy raking in his 11th Grammy, this one for Best Rap/Sung Performance, which he shared with DJ Khaled and Nipsey Hussle.
(Quick sidebar that this wasn't the only trolling that went down around Grammys 2020. Tyler, the Creator had to swat away some insults himself.)
After the quick defensive maneuver, Teigen quickly moved on from track pants-based insults, opting to spend her time doing some celebratory grooving with her boo after the big night.
11rh Grammy. Congrats my love, letβs have a drank https://t.co/CcQdYTVNcJβ christine teigen (@christine teigen) 1580107289.0
Par for the course for Teigen, she kept us all filled in right up until the end, reflecting on a night when everything seemed to be in the right place.
home. kissed my family hard tonight. love you guys.β christine teigen (@christine teigen) 1580117342.0
Alas, for all Teigen's clap backs, she appears to have plenty going on outside the virtual world to cushion any blow that might be sent her way.
Chrissy Teigen Totally Trolled The College Admissions Scam With Some Hilariously Bad Photoshopping
Earlier this week, we all heard the news about the college admissions scam perpetrated by dozens of prominent actors and CEOs to get their kids into prestigious schools by bribing test proctors, cheating on school work and falsifying photos of the kids as athletes.
That last one seems so far out there, it's one of the most talked about aspects of the scam (outside of the involvement of Aunt Becky from Full House).
To that end, Chrissy Teigen has taken to Twitter to mock the situation.
does this look real? we are trying to get into harvard @jenatkinhair @mrmikerosenthal @johnlegend https://t.co/jpcNGq2mViβ christine teigen (@christine teigen) 1552513466.0
While her kids are a few years away from needing to worry about college, Teigen attempts to get herself, her husband, and their friends into Harvard. She shows the athletic prowess of the four in a series of totally unaltered photos.
The photos show the faces of Teigen, John Legend, Jena Atkin and Mike Rosenthal pasted onto the bodies of famous football (soccer) players.
They are varying levels of successful.
Honestly? I'd totally believe they're on the team.

The indictments in the college admissions scam allege that for the past several years, Rick Singer had an entire network of test proctors, coaches, athletic administrators and, of course, parents whose bribery and fraud allowed them to secure admissions for students to high ranking schools such as Yale, Georgetown and Stanford.
While actors Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, the latter of whom played Aunt Becky in Full House, are the most famous of the parents charged, the list includes Gordon Caplan, chairman of a law firm; Robert Flaxman, the CEO of Crown Realty; and Mossimo Giannulli, Loughlin's husband and the founder of Mossimo Fashion company.
While there's always been hushed talk and jokes about the country's elite using their wealth and status to secure their kids entrance to these schools, no one expected law enforcement to actually do something about it, let alone find such a blatant scam as posed photos for athletic admissions.
It's great that Teigen can help lighten the mood.

Still, the FBI has stated that while some of the kids knew about the scam and willingly participated, others were sheltered and had no idea. They had to find out they didn't get into these schools on their own merit when this story broke.
The crimes of these parents have also proven that the admissions process for colleges is fundamentally broken, in a day and age when college has become a near necessity to get ahead, while also becoming the most expensive purchase a child has to decide on.
While it's great to be able to have a laugh, we have to remember the sadness at the heart of the humor.

As the investigation continues and more fallout from the scam plays out, there's going to be a lot of blame going around and a lot of tense emotions over these actions.
At the very least some great jokes can keep us from getting too grim.
Chrissy Teigen Shows Us All How To Properly 'Live' At The Airport While Documenting Her 16-Hour Layover π
Chrissy Teigen seems to have bad luck with flying and airports.
After documenting several instances of insanely long flights or flights that literally go nowhere, she gave us every travel tip in her book when she spent 16 hours at London-Heathrow Airport and decided she "lived" there.
Teigen is truly superwoman.
She documented surviving a 15-hour flight with a 2 year old, a newborn, and yet another leg of the journey to go.

She added:
"I truly love hearing other kids cry now because it means it's not my own.

When she was pregnant, Teigen survived a nightmare "flight to nowhere" after her flight to Tokyo turned around after 4 hours to land at LAX with an unauthorized passenger.

She also openly offered the services of her makeup artist, Dan:
"Dan's here to do makeup for anyone here at Heathrow, he does hair, I don't do anything."
Aside from some later killer eyebrow tutorials, we also saw that she got her daughter Luna an adorable Paddington bear from a souvenir shop inside the airport.
