A Marvel Fan Described How A Muslim Man Indirectly Saved The MCU And Now Its Going Viral For All The Right Reasons
Thread celebrates the far-reaching impact of one character's powerful sacrifice.
**WARNING: Spoilers ahead.
While it took a whole team of Earth's mightiest heroes to go after Thanos, one Marvel fan has reminded us that the entire MCU owes a debt of gratitude to the actions of one regular man.
WARNING: Spoilers ahead.
It's been a long road for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, 11 years and 22 movies all leading up to the final fight with Thanos. For those who still haven't caught Avengers: Endgame this is where the spoilers come in.
By now the rest of us know that Tony Stark laid down his life to save the universe and defeat Thanos—making the ultimate sacrifice Tony snapped his fingers and was killed by the overwhelming energy produced by the Infinity Gauntlet.
But as great a debt the universe owes to Iron Man's sacrifice, Tony himself remembers that his journey began 11 years outside that cave in Afghanistan.

From that point on Tony began his odyssey as Iron Man.
But one Marvel fan has reminded us that Tony, Iron Man, The Avengers and the entire MCU might not have come to be if not for the extraordinary sacrifice of one ordinary man, Dr. Ho Yinsen.
After taking shrapnel from one of his own weapons, Tony was as good as dead as the small pieces of metal made their way to his heart. But Yinsen stepped in to save Tony's life.
Later Yinsen laid down his life to save Tony once again as he made his escape from the cave in Afghanistan where he was being held prisoner by the terrorist group known as the Ten Rings.
With his final breath Yinsen reminded the then arms-dealing, war-mongering, billionaire playboy Tony:
"Don't waste your life."
At the time Yinsen may have saved just one man, but indirectly his sacrifice saved the entire MCU.

Robert Downey Jr. Hosted A Lunch For The Incredible Women Of The MCU, And The Internet Is Cheering Hard
When it comes to making sure you stand out as an awesome coworker, one of the most honored, time-tested, fool-proof methods is to just bring food.
It works for offices, it works for retail jobs, and apparently it works for big budget Hollywood movie sets.
Robert Downey Jr. proved that one with a recent #TBT (Throwback Thursday) post on Instagram that has people kind of swooning.
RDJ "had the pleasure of hosting" a lunch on set for the women of the Marvel universe. He snapped and shared two images of the mini get-together.
If you're one of those people who likes to keep the fantasy pure and doesn't want to see the reality behind the magic, then maybe just skip looking at the pictures.
The group is sitting in a covered tent with a large air conditioning hose at the top and some plants to make it a bit of a more comfortable attractive space.
They're together at a long picnic table which is sitting on a patch of fake grass surrounded by a few bits of outdoor furniture. Essentially, it's a faux picnic!
The cast members are in various states of wardrobe and personal clothing mixed together. It's obvious the lunch was held in between scenes. Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Shuri (Letitia Wright) and Okoye (Danai Gurira) look like they could hit the set again with just a few touch ups.
For example, some of the body paint has rubbed off of Zoe Saldana's arms and the ladies of Black Panther are probably missing an accessory or two.
Mantis (Pom Klementieff) is just sitting around like an adorable bug in casual streetwear hanging out with Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow.) Evangeline Lilly (Wasp) could literally go for a walk and just look like some super cool person you'd like to meet.
And then there's Nebula (Karen Gillian).
If you're used to seeing her like this...
...then seeing her as pretty much just a head sitting on top of a normal body might freak you out a little bit.

Of Course Mark Ruffalo Spoiled A Huge 'Endgame' Moment Weeks Ago And Didn't Even Realize It
*Heads up for some major spoilers below! If you haven't seen Avengers: Endgame yet, proceed at your own risk.
Mark Ruffalo is a bit of a klutz, but we love him anyway.
Theactor, best known these days for playing Bruce Banner/Hulk in the Avengers series––though you should do yourself a favor and check out his other stuff, like his Academy Award-nominated work, too––is a walking liability because he keeps spoiling big moments from the Marvel franchise.
Do ya'll remember when he spoiled a key moment from Thor: Ragnarok?
Mark Ruffalo leaked a sneak peek of #ThorRagnarok from yesterday's premiere! https://t.co/JE5VfmQMPY— Best of Marvel (@Best of Marvel) 1507713620.0
How about that time he spoiled another moment from Avengers: Infinity War?
Don Cheadle's Reaction to Mark Ruffalo Spoiling Avengerswww.youtube.com
After those two notable blunders, everyone took precautions, but it appears their efforts were for naught, because despite a relatively unmarred publicity tour, Ruffalo still managed to spoil an important moment from Avengers: Endgame.
The incident took place back in early April, when during an interview with E! News, Ruffalo revealed that the Endgame script had several fake scenes and that the cast filmed scenes that the filmmakers never intended to put in the movie:
"I didn't even get a whole script for this movie. I don't know why. The script I did get had dummy scenes in it."
Ruffalo added that he read a scene in the script in which Steve Rogers/Captain America (played by actor Chris Evans) gets married to Peggy Carter (Haley Atwell). And that's exactly what happened in the film, by the way, right after Rogers does his part to return the Infinity Stones.
Evans, to his credit, caught Ruffalo's blunder, and managed to cover for him:
"Mark's a real liability. They have to throw Mark off the scent. You have zero cred. You have earned no trust in the Marvel universe. You, like, leak like a bodily function."
You can watch the interview for yourself here:

'Avengers: Endgame' Features The MCU's First Openly-Gay Character—But Some Fans Aren't Impressed
It only took the Marvel Cinematic Universe close to 20 years to introduce an openly gay character, but was it just a cop-out?
None of the major characters are that character, so there's the first disappointing news.
Endgame director Joe Russo portrays the character, who is attending a support group with Captain America/Steve Rogers early on in the movie, talking about his recent date with another man.

But... is that it?
This character has no name, nor even a full role in the film. He is there for a moment, just to confirm that in Marvel's alternate version of earth, yes, the gays exist.
But that's not a realistic representation of our own world, where one in ten people are gay, nor a realistic representation of the Marvel universe as a whole, which has at least 28 known gay characters. And, Deadpool 2 gave us a whole lesbian relationship between Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio.

And Russo really did pat himself on the back for this one.
Representation is really important. It was important to us as we did four of these films, we wanted a gay character somewhere in them. We felt it was important that one of us play him, to ensure the integrity and show it is so important to the filmmakers that one of us is representing that.
