Employees Reveal Why They're Not Customers Where They Work

There's a dark side to knowing how the sausage is made. On one hand, you'll be more knowledgeable about the world at large and that's always a plus. The downside is you...know how the sausage is made. Dark secrets can lead to an awful legacy, especially if it's a place you're currently employed. You know how your co-workers behave once they hang up the customer service call, so why would you ever go back? Let's find out.

Reddit user, u/bengalese, wanted to know why you'd never shop where you work when they asked:

Why are you not a customer of where you work?

Who Could Reasonably Afford That?

Because I can't afford a $500,000 boat

K0jima

Can you borrow a 500k boat?

SexlessNights

Idk if they would let me, but we do get to go on rides if your name gets drawn in the lottery

It's Not Your Time Yet

I'm only 25. Thankfully don't need hospice care and am hoping I won't need it for a while.

Who'd Want Them Knowing All that?

It'd be unethical for my coworker to see me for therapy.

supermariobruhh

Same. Plus, I'm not eligible for services where I work.

Ayzmo

And...Gross

I work in fast food, and one of my coworkers regularly scratches her back with any food-prepping utensils she can find.

I've talked to her about it, the managers have talked to her about it, but I think she does it without realizing. I make sure to swap out every utensil she uses for a clean one but I'm not watching her all the time

How Does Nothing Get Done?

Because I can't afford the kind of vehicles we do repair work on.

Also knowing how often the electrics go faulty doesn't fill me with confidence were I able to!

hylian-bard

I don't have the money to hire me

jared040

A high-class sex worker?

A world-famous singer?

An estate agent?

A low-cost contortionist who struggles to pay the bills because you're not that good at what you do, and don't have enough time for a second job? Plus you immigrated to a new country and have to send some cash back to your poor and sick parents? You had to lie to them about how much you earned because they told you not to do this and take over the family lamp lighting business but you had dreams. You landed on Ellis Island with high hopes but soon realised that not was all that it seemed. Now you're too ashamed to tell mama and papa that you're not as rich as you promised you'd be.

....the fourth one.

Hopefully, Never Needed

Because, thankfully, I don't have cancer.

HairyGuyGacks

Same. Are you in pharma or the clinic side?

GuiltyLawyer

Clinical research.

HairyGuyGacks

True Honesty

Because it is quite hard to f-ck myself.

MrDaftJack

Comcast support?

Beautiful

Sometimes, It's Easier Than You Think

Because my coworkers are there.

zanihippolysis

Probably the most truthful answer in this thread, no matter how you look at it.

Are they incompetent? Do you just not want them to know? Yes.

lifelongfreshman

Pretty much why I wouldn't eat at that restaurant. I have seen the kind of sh-t they do, and I never want them anywhere near my food. Plus considering the quality of food and service their prices are way too high.

Adults Who Still Need A Stuffed Animal To Go To Sleep Share Their Experiences

Reddit user Old-Horse1185 asked: '34 percent of adults sleep with a stuffed animal or other sentimental object. Are you one of these people? What do you sleep with?'

Stuffies, plushies, stuffed animals, or plush toys; whatever you might call them, we likely all can remember a fluffy friend we had in our childhood.

But some adults might have carried their childhood friend into adulthood, or even made others along the way, and they might even still go to sleep with them at night, too.

Working remotely from home certainly has its advantages, including not having to endure traffic and deal with coworker drama.

But many people found that during the pandemic, the isolation of working from home left little to be desired.

People who have jobs requiring them to commute every day and arrive at the workplace are given the opportunity to be social and feel like they're a part of society.

But being a part of a work environment can come with its own unique occupational hazards.

Be it desperation, self-indulgence, or simply optimism, many people never leave home without a condom.

If the chances of "getting lucky" are much more likely at some places than others, one never knows where or when they might hit it off with someone.

Including a funeral.

Bizarre and tasteless as that sounds, a recent study reportedly showed that 1 in 8 men under the age of 35 do, in fact, bring condoms with them when attending a funeral, "just in case".

Whether or not these condoms were used, however, is another story entirely.

People will trip themselves up eventually.

Because liars and lunatics always make mistakes.

They may be small mistakes, but they leave just enough room to expose their wicked ways.

Sure we all want to fight off an enemy and be the victor.

But sometimes the victor's greatest weapon is nothing but a little patience.

Then, we celebrate with a smile as we watch the crumble.

And maybe we have a little victory dance.
