They say imitation is the best form of flattery.
Actor and comedian Kenan Thompson is best known for his tenure at Saturday Night Live.
He has a number of solid characters and impressions under his belt, from Charles Barkley to David Ortiz.
One of his most popular, and perhaps most dead-on in his portrayal, is Steve Harvey.
Family Feud: Extended Family - SNL www.youtube.com
The SNL cast member was recently approached by Harvey himself, on the set of Thompson's new reality competition show Bring the Funny. Turns out, Harvey is very familiar with Thompson's impression of him, and issued him a joking threat.
Thompson spoke of this encounter to Fox News.
"I just saw [Steve Harvey] when we were shooting 'Bring The Funny' and he was on the next stage doing 'Family Feud,' so I sat down with him and he was like, 'You better watch yourself'. I love Steve. I've known him for a super long time."
Despite Fox, it was a pretty funny encounter.
Many SNL fans thought so too.
Steve Harvey telling Kenan Thompson to watch himself over his SNL impression is by far the funniest thing he has ever done— Dazzling, Deft & Devoid of Feeling (@Dazzling, Deft & Devoid of Feeling) 1558026290.0
#SteveHarvey #kenanthompson Celebrity boxing match is needed to settle this!! https://t.co/GDVbikjtgq— christian (@christian) 1558023586.0
While initially some fans took the threat a little seriously, it was obvious to Thompson that the comment was in jest.
After all, he is a comedian.
"Comedy is a craft. It's something that you sharpen over time so the more you educate yourself about topics and references the better [your comedy] will be and the more appealing it'll be to a wider audience. Your comedy skills get better over time but you have to work at it."
Thompson has gained a large following over the years, beginning with his involvement with Nickelodeon in the 90's. After starring in shows such as Kenan and Kel and All That!, he wound up scoring a spot on the biggest sketch comedy show of all time.
In fact, Thompson broke the record for the longest running SNL cast member.
He is now has sixteen seasons under his belt, and he won't be stopping anytime soon.

Thompson is now getting his own sitcom on NBC, titled The Kenan Show, along with a new unscripted reality game show called Bring the Funny.
He has no plans to leave SNL.
What a legend.
Black Actors Sweep Guest Categories In Huge Milestone For Creative Arts Emmys
The Emmys hit a major milestone on Saturday, September 8, at the Creative Arts Awards ceremony, which typically precedes the televised ceremony several days later. For the first time in the award's history, black actors swept all four guest acting categories, signaling unprecedented steps toward inclusion and quality writing for black characters.
The four awards for guest appearances went to Tiffany Haddish (Saturday Night Live), Ron Cephas Jones (This Is Us), Samira Wiley (The Handmaid's Tale), and Katt Williams (Atlanta).
I saw “black actors sweep” and got nervous... 🤣 But it’s good news! Congratulations to Tiffany, Katt, Ron and Samir… https://t.co/LJwtyfoDEf— Robin Thede (@Robin Thede) 1536498415.0
The closest the Emmys have come to similar levels of diverse representation were in 2003 and 2014, when two of the four awards went to people of color.

Hype has been building towards the possibility of a sweep since nominees were announced in July. An unprecedented 11 of the 20 nominees were black actors and actresses, inspiring excitement from the Hollywood community.

Many, such as Deadline, believe these victories reflected "a concerted effort on part of networks, writers and producers to embrace more diverse storytelling and put on series featuring complex black characters."

Cephas Jones commented on the likelihood of a TV character like his (William on This is Us) existing years ago:
It would have been difficult. We are moving forward and moving ahead.

Many are hoping the Emmys continue their inclusive trend during the televised ceremony on September 17, where Donald Glover (Atlanta) and Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us) are both nominated for leading actor. Killing Eve's Sandra Oh is nominated to become the first Asian woman to take home a leading actress Emmy, and Black-ish's Tracee Ellis Ross could be nabbing the Emmy for lead actress in a comedy series.
The Emmys will air on September 17 on NBC with hosts Michael Che and Colin Jost!

Dad jokes are having a moment right now - understandably, since lame dads are hilarious. We love talking about the kinds of "dad stuff" stereotypes - like freaking out if anyone touches the thermostat and wearing weirdly tall socks with some New Balance sneakers. One Reddit user pointed out that we're all knee-deep in dad stuff, but moms have just as many quirks! They wanted to know what some typical "mom things" people could think of. The responses were too much fun!
The initial question:
We always hear about "dad" things, what are some "mom" things?
The comments had people laughing, feeling nostalgic, and bonding over the sorts of mom things that seem to be pretty much universal.
Here are some of our favorite replies, edited for clarity when needed.

Being cheated on sucks. What a lot of people don't realize, though, is that it can suck for longer than just that moment, that incident, or even that relationship. Cheating can leave a lasting wound and sow the kinds of trust issues that follow us around for ages. One Reddit user was battling that insecurity from a past relationship when her current fiance started acting more distant. She said she was feeling "really insecure with his change in behavior" even though he gave a valid reason for it. She couldn't let the nagging feeling go, so she created fake profiles on popular dating sites to see if she could find him.
She did. So she turned to Reddit for help.
We'll let her explain:
My fiance and I have been together a year and a half, we moved in with one another a few months ago. Lately he has been a bit distant. I've been cheated on in the past and have been really insecure with his change in behavior. He has assured me he is just stressed about work and because his car broke down a couple weeks ago and he hasn't gotten a replacement yet.
I couldn't let the nagging feeling go, so I did a little investigating. I didn't snoop in his phone or personal accounts, but I made a fake profile on a popular dating site and found him there. He was last online July 1st.
I don't know what to do. How do I confront him? What do I say? Can our relationship be saved? Do I even want to save it?
I feel like I am a wreck right now
Buckle up, guys. You're about to go on a roller coaster of a ride with these responses and updates. Some have been edited for language or clarity.

My man's got this friend named Chad. Chad isn't his real name, but that's what we're going with for this article. Chad is in a relationship that is ... well ... there's a reason Facebook had to come up with the "it's complicated" status. Nobody is happy, they often go out of their way to avoid one another or are forcing performative affection for the 'gram. One night, Chad decided he was going to hide from LadyChad and told her he couldn't see her because he was spending time with us. He then made up a whole elaborate story about drinking wine (which he doesn't normally do) and overdoing it because he really liked it.
Thing is, Chad never told US that he used us as a ridiculously specific cover story.
So imagine my surprise when I get a message from LadyChad on Instagram (not an app I'm terribly active on as far as messaging and I have literally never spoken a single word to LadyChad at this point) asking what kind of wine I had given Chad because she wanted to go out and purchase several bottles.
Um ... what? So there I am awkwardly staring at my phone already having responded to her "hi" so I can't just ghost the girl. She knows I've read her messages and am actively on my phone. Chad doesn't really talk to me, so I have no idea how I got roped into this, and I'm looking around like "WHAT DO I DO!?!?!"
Babe later assured me this is the sort of thing Chad did to him all the time and LadyChad was probably well aware that he was lying. Still, I didn't appreciate getting sucked into some elaborate Chad-scheme. If you're going to do that to people, you have to give them a heads up! One Reddit user asked:
What's the most awkward position someone's ever put you in?
... apparently the world is FULL of Chads. Get it together, guys. Stop being Chads. Here are some of my favorite responses - edited for clarity when needed. Enjoy the cringefest!
