Commercials are responsible for bringing us into a world where someone has a need, and that need is magically fulfilled. Typically, a talking mop or anthropomorphic animal plays Sherpa, leading them to consumer satisfaction. Sometimes. It's those other times we have to tell ourselves, "This is awful and I refuse."

Reddit user, u/golde62, wanted to know which ads set you off when they asked:

What commercial did you dislike so much that you now avoid the product?

Let's Manipulate Those Heartstrings

Lens Crafters.

They ran this sappy commercial with this little kid in glasses, toying with emotions by saying they helped him when he had congenital myopia, like it was some terrible disease.

It just means he was born nearsighted.

F-ck you, Lens Crafters.

When They Invade Your Music

Those f-cking "Tide and stains just don't go together" commercials on Pandora.

If I have to listen to

"swweeaaatteerr"

SAAAUUUCEEE

one more time, I swear to God, I'm gonna lose it. I've switched to the powder detergent because of it.

...And Now The Jingle Is Stuck In Your Head

*Not* donating my old sedan to 1-877-KARS-4-KIDS was an act of sweet, sweet vengeance.

Never have I hated something so much that I know so little about

Pure Irrationality

Anything that mentions "Winning a J.D. Power Award"

As far as I can tell the award is purely based on opinion and is f-cking useless involving anything else.

Mainly car companies talk about this award

I don't care if a bunch of people like the product is it actually good?

The second I hear that award mentioned I stay the f-ck away because that award is not worth bragging about

We Promise They're Not Actors. Pinky Swear.

Those Chevy "Real People" commercials are really annoying.

This just feels like a reliable car.

Person sitting in a brand-new, fresh off the factory floor car which they haven't even attempted to start yet!

For Someone So Friendly, He Sure Is Hateable

The General (insurance).

"For the best low rates you can get online, go to the general and save some time." F-ck that company.

Looking At You, Most Coffee Commercials...

Giphy

Anything that uses an alarm clock noise.

Like, who thinks it's a good idea to shove the unanimous sound of dread every human being knows into some commercial about soap? I just associate that feeling with those products now.

Skittles Just Takes It Too Far

That Skittles pox commercial that's been around forever.

Just f-cking stop it Skittles, I don't want to taste the rainbow that's growing on someone's skin.

Death is scary. It brings the unknown of the great beyond, whether that's heaven, some other afterlife, or total nothingness, depending on what you believe.

But there is one perk that comes with death: total control of your funeral.

After we've watched a movie, it can be difficult to imagine the film as a project that took months or years to finally culminate into the product we see at the theater or on our television.

But it was built and hacked together, piece by piece.
