At any given moment, a glance at the news can put a damper on even the best of days. Sometimes it seems as if the world has gone mad and nothing makes sense anymore.

CORRECTION: nothing makes sense anymore EXCEPT for this beautiful little pooch having his picture taken at a baseball game. Trying to get a perfect shot, the dog's owner gave him a hot dog to hold in his mouth and, because he is a very good boy, the dog managed to resist eating it long enough for the man to snap a great shot.

The entire process gave us this soul-lifting GIF, which was posted to Reddit by SeattleMana:

And if you're wondering how the photo turned out, don't worry. It was incredible.

The GIF was originally posted in the Facebook group Dogspotting, where people can share pictures and videos of dogs they see out in public. The poster was eventually able to track down the pup's owner and get this comment:

I live in Seattle and every summer our baseball team (go Mariners!) has a 'bark in the park' night where DOGS GET TO GO TO THE GAME WITH THEIR HUMANS 📷🚨 THIS IS NOT A DRILL AND OFFICIALLY MY BEST SPOT YET.

The internet was living for the GIF and the resulting photo, though they weren't sure how to feel about a real dog eating a hot dog...

Also, a dog in a hat will always be popular online!

It's our honor to officially name this hot dog-holding Golden Retriever the best boy of the day!

It's on Homogenic, her third studio album, and it's incredible, passionate, smartly produced and a great showcase for her stupendous voice.

That song? An emotional rollercoaster, for sure.

There's tons of great music out there, though, and even more sad and gorgeous songs to discover.
