For realsies this time.
The Universal and Blumhouse film has a new release date of March 13th, and a new ad campaign about how "the most talked about movie of the year is one that no one's actually seen".
The uncanceled film even comes with a brand-new trailer.

The film is loosely based on the short story, "The Most Dangerous Game," where a man becomes trapped on an island owned by a rich and successful hunter who has grown bored with game hunting, and instead hunts humans for the challenge.
In the movie, 12 strangers who have shared conservative views online are kidnapped and hunted by rich elites. Everything changes when one of the hunted, played by Betty Gilpin, fights back.
The film was set to be released last year, on September 27, 2019. That is until it became mired in controversy.
In early August, the Dayton and El Paso shootings horrified the nation as the two events happened in less than a day of each other. The Hunt came under heavy criticism for its violence after this.
Two days later, Donald Trump tweeted his distaste for the film, causing it to be pulled a day later.

However, as we now know the movie wasn't canceled entirely. It has been scheduled for release next month, with a new ad campaign taking advantage of the controversy.
The change in release date came with a new poster that has quotes from negative news coverage of the movie, effectively providing all the advertisement this movie needed.

However, these criticisms against the movie are missing the point. The "right wing" hunted are the protagonists and the "liberal" elites are the villains in this movie.
If you have a problem with the violence in this movie, sure, understandable. America has always had people protesting violence in movies and television.
I'm sure if that's the case, you also weren't a fan of the Death Wish remake.
But the main detractors have a problem with the apparent premise of conservatives being hunted for sport, like anyone in their right mind wants that. Killing conservatives is portrayed as a bad thing in this movie, and the liberal elites are unlikeable.
Also, The Purge series pretty much did the opposite of this as a hard-right wing party took over America and instituted what amounts to legal killing of the poor, so it's not like this kind of extreme satire is unheard of, let alone become popular.

The Hunt is slated for release on Friday the 13th next month, a date I'm sure is in no way ironic. It stars Betty Gilpin, Emma Roberts, Hilary Swank, Glenn Howerton and the nightmares of your weird conservative uncle.
Woman Tries To Wake Her Husband Up From A Nightmare—And They Both Instantly Regret It
There's something inherently scary about something happening to you when you're sleeping.
It's the time of day you are most vulnerable, when it's too dark to see, and too exhausted to fight back.
Maybe that's why nightmares have such a visceral response from us, despite the knowledge they aren't real.
Over on Reddit, user Woody4ever shares a story about what happens when you don't take nightmares seriously enough.
The story was shared to the "TIFU" subReddit. "TIFU" stands for "Today I [Messed] Up" and has users telling about how a small act or decision ended up going completely south.
And Woody4ever messed up by trying to console her husband while he was having a nightmare.
It's not a very long story, so they get right to the point.
"Woke up to him whimpering/ crying in his sleep. It was still dark out and I was so groggy that I lazily slung my hand over his face and tried shaking him awake while sleepily saying 'Babe, wake up'."
"I couldn't see so I just start feeling for his face to gently slap him awake."
However, they quickly realized this was the wrong move.
I've honestly never seen a situation escalate so quickly.
The simple act of trying to wake up your spouse can lead to a real bad reaction.
"In his nightmare haze, he screams and bites my hand. In my sleep haze, I was totally not expecting that shit and my brain immediately deduces my husband's been possessed so I start screaming."
"This caused him to start screaming more as he woke up. Lesson learned. Sleepy time means every man for himself apparently."
Screaming leading into other screaming. Recursive screaming. Just screams for days.
I'm honestly surprised they both came out okay. Seems like the husband was deep in something weird in that dream to make him bite the helping hand.
Speaking of, what was he dreaming about?
"He later told me his nightmare and it was truly f'd. He was dreaming he was having sex with me but then noticed it wasn't me, but some kind of creature."
"TL;DR: possible succubus scenario. Saved my husband's soul but got bit in the process. We're okay now."
Yikes.
If there's one thing we can count on it's the social dynamic between sleeping partners. And by "count on" I mean "cannot nail down at all."
Seriously, one moment you're praising them for saving you from a fiend, the next, you're complaining about their snoring.
"can't be letting those night demons steal your husband's man-water... sometimes you gotta take a bite on the hand." - Cracker77
"Lol, just doing my wifely duties nbd." - Woody4ever
"My ex-wife would punch me awake when I snored too loudly. I didn't blame her." - MaximumCameage
""Species" creature or "Predator" creature.... this is Reddit.. you gotta be specific." - rambler335
But sharing your stories on the internet leads to our favorite thing, and the thing that makes humanity better.
Commiserating.
Who knew so many people would have similar stories?
"One time my ex wife heard me groaning and gasping for air, so she tried to wake me up. She tells me she's never been so scared in her whole life because she thought I was dying. Truth is I was having a terrible nightmare were a grim reaper-esque creature was suffocating me. I, too, have never been so scared. The way she tells it from her end is quite frightening; even after violently shaking me to wake up I was unresponsive.
Nightmares are weird." - doubleohkevinnnn
"I did a thing like this. I awoke 100% sure a 18wheeler was going to obliterate us in bed. So I scooped up my wife and ran into the living room. Then, realizing it was a dream I took her back to bed and fell asleep. She told me of my antics the next day." - bobthepomato
"this reminds me of a dream where i got shot in the stomach and my guts were spilling out. GF sees me holding my stomach in my sleep and whimpering, and she starts to gently massage my stomach with her hand. meanwhile in my dream, a field medic has just walked up to me and begins to massage my guts, whispering"it's gonna be alright, baby."" - KidTrout
"I had a nightmare one night and my gf told me later that she had thought that holding on to me tightly was a good response. Wrong. It made me dream I was drowning in a sinking pool tarp. In my real life struggle to get free in the dream, I elbowed her in the eye." - Ghostdog2041
Luckily, Woody4ever's story ends with everyone okay. And honestly, a succubus trying to steal your soul kind of makes everything that happened afterward understandable.
There are less scary, but still frightening things that can happen in your dreams, especially when it's a recurring nightmare.
Just remember Woody4ever's advice.
"Sleepy time means every man for himself apparently."
Coldplay's Chris Martin Told Ellen About His Funny Idea For 'A Quiet Place'—And John Krasinski's Response Just Made It Even Better
Have you ever just had a really dumb joke you absolutely have to tell someone?
You send out the text to your friends, hoping to get a chuckle from someone but all you get is silence?
Yeah, that happens to celebrities too.
Chris Martin and Johnny Buckland were on The Ellen DeGeneres Show last week, talking about their new album.
Martin however, went off on a tangent about an idea he had for A Quiet Place.
As Martin explained, after seeing the movie A Quiet Place, he had a joke. He sent a video of himself pretending to play the piano and mouthing words to a song to Emily Blunt and her husband, John Krasinski, who directed the film.
"So, I sent Emily Blunt and her husband this idea for the musical of 'A Quiet Place' and it was just me like that,"
It was the perfect idea for A Quiet Place musical.
The only problem is Martin never heard anything back from Krasinski or Blunt.
As Martin explained:
"I thought, 'Oh no, they must have thought I was taking the Mickey.' I wasn't. I loved the film!"
DeGeneres helpfully responded:
"Well, you'll hear back from them now!"
And she ensured it. The official Twitter account for the show tweeted out the clip and tagged Krasinski in the tweet.
Difficult to ignore that.
.@JohnKrasinski, did you get this message from Chris Martin? https://t.co/2iVw0o5SNi— Ellen DeGeneres (@Ellen DeGeneres) 1579127469.0
Krasinski certainly couldn't ignore being called out like that. He manned up and responded to the video.
He also decided to throw his wife under the bus.
@TheEllenShow I... did not get an email from Chris Martin. The man is a treasure. Are you kidding me!? Emily what have you done!?!?— John Krasinski (@John Krasinski) 1579145164.0
@johnkrasinski Well, blaming Emily seems like a great strategy.— Ellen DeGeneres (@Ellen DeGeneres) 1579191157.0
It's not very fair, considering Blunt doesn't use social media and can't so readily defend herself. Low blow, Jim.
On the other hand, people are very supportive of Martin referring to the Hollywood couple as "Emily Blunt and her husband."
@steeljammn @johnkrasinski @TheEllenShow That reference was the best! Must be a Brit thing?— Karess (@Karess) 1579150481.0
We can cut Krasinski a little slack. He's been busy producing A Quiet Place 2, due for release in March of this year.
The film once again stars Emily Blunt as Evelyn Abbott as she and her family face off against deadly creatures who violently attack any sound.
The monsters aren't entirely unlike Twitter users who see a famous actor trying to blame Emily Blunt because he happened to leave Chris Martin on read.

Chris Martin and Johnny Buckland were on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote their new album, Everyday Life. According to Metacritic, the album has received generally favorable reviews, and debuted at #1 on the UK Albums Chart.
It is said that if you ask a stupid question, you'll get a stupid answer.
No one mentioned you would also be charged for the privilege.
Tom's Diner, a Denver Colorado landmark featured in a song by the same name, recently went viral on Reddit after a customer uploaded their receipt to the site.
r/me_irl - me_irl from me_irl
The receipt starts with the normal items, listing mashed potatoes and a chicken tenders basket. However, it ends with a $0.38 charge for "1 Stupid Question".
For those who haven't been there, Tom's actually advertises the "stupid question" under its sides menu, so it should come as no surprise when it's added to your bill. Some people actually request it.
Which would make the most common stupid question:
"Would you please take my money?"
I wish someone told me you could charge for stupid questions.
"If I got paid to listen to people's stupid questions I'd probably be a billionaire" - sarahmakennal
"They charge you 38 cents? S***, if I charged for every stupid question I was asked, I'd be f***in rich." - DatBoiDan51
"I got confused after I read the first 2 lines. Read the first word of each line. Was not disappointed there either." - ImmaFukinDragon
"Tom's probably runs out of "stupid questions" when you visit." - santathe1
Tom's Diner is a Denver staple, opened in 1967. The owner and namesake of the establishment, Tom Messina, is looking to retire, and for a while, the future of the restaurant was up in the air.
Recently though, the diner announced that they struck a deal with the GBX Group, who specialize in "preserving and operating historic real estate." They have already successfully listed the building on the National Register of Historic Places to protect the establishment.
They will work together with Tom to keep the diner open. They may change the name of the business, but that might be a good thing.
Right now, it gets confused for the restaurant in the song "Tom's Diner".
"Do do do do, do do do do do." - SuddenlyCelery
"I once searched the song by just typing "tututurut tututurut"." - Blazing117
Still, it's good it will be protected, as many shared their fun memories of the restaurant.
"I go there all the time with my buddies! Good food and good people. Dont get hung up over a funni joke" - brutales_katzchen
"I remember coming to this place after a Zola jesus concert, they had some good milkshakes, good times were had by all" - Thenewfoundlanders
The photo was a fun time and brought up some good memories for those who've been to the diner.
Surprisingly, no one got upset about the concept of charging for asking a stupid question, which I think is a first for the internet.
However, when it comes to this story, you can't charge people for asking their own stupid questions.

Awards season is on everyone's mind as the films of 2019 compete for the prestige and box office money that comes from winning.
Joker is making waves all on its own, with two wins at the Golden Globes this year, including the first solo woman to win Best Original Score.
The movie's excellent award season is bringing those involved into the spotlight, which for Joaquin Phoenix, brings its own controversy. The actor is as well known for his eccentricities as he is for his performances.
After winning the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama, Phoenix was brought backstage to greet the press. After joking he was tricked to come backstage, the questions began.
And the first question immediately started an online debate.
Joaquin Phoenix bristles at journalist's question about how he prepared for #Joker: "I feel like I've talked about… https://t.co/e1xmZdqBD5— Variety (@Variety) 1578291132.0
In the video above, the first question asked wondered about Phoenix's process to study for and transform into the Joker.
Phoenix's response was very incredulous.
"Isn't this old news? I think I've talked about this for six months."
"I feel like I answered these questions. You want to hear a different version of it? I can try to change it slightly, or what should I do?"
Which to be fair, is true.
Promoting the movie during production and at time of release, Phoenix spoke at length, repeatedly, about his process to prepare for the role. Googling his appearances on talk shows and his interviews about the film finds almost all interviews include the answer to this question.
That fact didn't stop people from seeing Phoenix's response as being very rude.

Others came to his defense, however.
Phoenix has often been characterized as shy, and something of a recluse. He's noted for eschewing the normal Hollywood lifestyle, and having a very limited circle of friends.
Others pointed out his unconventional upbringing as to why he can appear different to other people.
And of course, Joker has been one of the biggest and most successful films of the year. Why would anyone think that question wasn't uncreative, unimaginative and lazy journalism on the reporter's part?
All of this led to debate online as to whether or not he was rude, or if he was, if we can excuse it.

On the other hand, it was pointed out that many aren't afforded these same considerations.
Women in particular often get harsher judgements if they are perceived as cold or unsociable. Many have to deal with the same questions, not just on a particular film, but for their careers.
Part of the job of an actor is to promote the movie, and that often means dealing with unoriginal journalists, asking the same question as everyone else. And it's not like Phoenix isn't used to public scrutiny.
Does this mean Phoenix's actions should be condemned? Or should we just give more leeway to other actors frustrated with the press circuit?
