Baby Names That Immediately Make Someone Lose All Respect For The Parents
What's in a name?
When it comes to your first child, or any of your children for that matter, a lot.
It's easy for some, who come to a common agreement fairly instantly.
Of course, after they come to an agreement on what to name their child, they have no way of knowing how their family will feel.
These days, everyone has an opinion on a name.
Even the most traditional names, like Tom and John, Sarah and Lucy might get a yawn, for being too old-fashioned.
Though, when parents get too inventive, people's judgment grows even stronger.
Redditor Birchtree16 was eager to hear the names that made people's jaws hit the floor, leading them to ask:
"What baby name immediately makes you lose all respect for the parents and why?"
Not Nearly Enough Space...
"Any of Nick Cannon's kids' names."
"They are all so over the top bad."
"Moroccan, Monroe, Golden Sagon, Rise Messiah, Powerful Queen, Zion Mixolydian, Zillion Heir, Beautiful Zeppelin, Legendary Love, Onyx Ice Cole and Zen."

It's certainly easy to judge when we hear a name which is, to put it mildly, peculiar.
Though before we rush to judgment, we must consider that unusual as may seem, it could have personal meaning to the family.
Though, anyone who names their child "Reighfyl", regardless of the spelling, definitely deserves to be judged.
Ways Teachers Instantly Gained Respect From The Entire Class According To Students
All of us were positively impacted by a teacher in one way or another.
Even those of us who hated school still have one teacher who continues to influence our life decades after graduation.
In some cases, this influence is a very personal one, as this particular teacher may have given us some extra attention, and went to great lengths to make sure we were reaching our full potential.
Then there are the teachers whose name brings a smile to the face of all who ever knew them.
The sort of teacher who made people excited to get to class, and who so seamlessly gained the respect of their students, that they wanted them not just to be their teacher, but to be their friend.
Not by doing anything remarkable, but simply by being themselves.
"What did a teacher do that made you automatically gain respect for them?"
Words Of Affirmation
"I went to a small charter school for middle school."
"Our English/literature teacher was brand new to teaching."
"If I remember correctly she was only 22 which seemed old at the time."
"She always did her best to be so cheerful and make learning fun."
"But the thing that truly solidified her spot as my favorite teacher was that for every student’s birthday she would give you a personalized mini notebook."
"It was just a simple small composition notebook but she had filled the first couple pages telling me how much she loved having me as a student, how far she knew I would go, and other affirmations."
"It seems small but as a 13 year old who had a crappy home life it made all the difference in how I acted the rest of the year."- Voiceisaweapon

"I had a teacher in elementary school who was prone to outbursts."
"He had a short fuse, at least compared to every other adult I knew at the time."
"For instance, when several of us in class weren't listening he'd throw a piece of chalk against the wall to get our attention."
"Honestly, we just thought he was crazy."
"A year or maybe two years later, the school had a talent show."
"Like a big one, in the gym, in front of everyone."
"One my classmates was really into music and wanted to play a drum solo."
"Our teacher had mentioned off-hand that he used to be in a band and played drums, so my classmate asked him, sort of dared, like kids often do with adults, to play a solo in front of the school."
"And he did."
"He f*cking rocked it."
"But that's not what made me respect him."
"Turns out the band he played for was a very successful, and at the time quite popular rock band."
"He left just before they became popular, because he wanted to be a teacher."
"He chose teaching kids over the chance at fame and fortune, and didn't regret it."
"Decided to look him up and he's still a teacher, and doing very well."
"Made me smile."- dasoberirishman

"The principal found me and we went back to the classroom and he asked me to wait outside for a minute while he talked to the class."
"He then walked me to his office and bought me a Coke."
"The next day, first thing in the morning, we had an assembly with the entire school and he walked up on stage with his head shaved completely bald and talked about bullying and the like."
"Some twenty years down the road he had retired and I ran into him at the local college."
"Shook his hand and said, 'you probably don't remember me, but-'"
"'Yes I do', he interrupted and said my name and the event."
"The man was and is a hero in my eyes."- hopgeek
Their Door Is Always Open
"I want to shout out this teacher of mine."
"She was our AP English Language teacher for our senior year of high school."
"On one of the first days in her class, she explained how she went from being a kindergarten teacher to a high school senior teacher."
"She always saw off her cute and happy kindergarten kids, but as they grew up and they came back to visit her, a lot of them came to her troubled and dissatisfied with their lives."
"It made her real emotional about how people had treated these kids she loved so much, how she couldn't afford to see kids so disconnected with life, and how she didn't want them to suffer as they headed out towards college and their adult lives."
"So she changed curriculums and started teaching seniors."
"If I remember right, it always came down to sending her kids off with a smile, prepping them for the real world."
"I respect the hell out of her and she'll always be one of my favorites."
"Truly like a mother to all her students."- NuluProton

"My 4th grade teacher would have a 'classroom yard sale' every year after she did her annual Spring cleaning."
"Her daughter was about 13, so the things she'd recently outgrown would be age-appropriate for us."
"I'm aware this wouldn't work out every year, and I'm not sure how long she taught at our school but she told us it was a regular thing."
"We didn't have to pay for them."
"If we needed or wanted something, we could have it."
"There was some sort of lesson incorporated into the yard sale."
"How to trade or value money or something like that, so we didn't feel embarrassed if we needed a few more things than the other kids did."
"I wish I could remember exactly how it worked, but this happened in 1994."
"She was an all-around great teacher."
"Thanks, Miss Ferrell, whose name I've probably misspelled."
"Your class was fun."- NeedsMoreTuba
A truly great teacher doesn't just teach you facts from a textbook.
A truly great teacher is one who likes to listen more than they like to talk.
By doing so, they learn more about their students.
As they continue to learn, their strengths as a teacher grow even stronger, and they, in turn, help students learn more about themselves.

People Explain Which Professions They Have Absolutely No Respect For
Anyone managing to hold down a steady job during challenging times is generally understood as admirable.
Honest living, as they say, is something that is commendable.
While that is true to some extent, there are certain ways people earn money that is frowned upon by others who view the work as completely objectionable.
Curious to hear what some of those might be, Reddtor UlyssesWatson asked:
"What is one profession that you have absolutely zero respect for?"
Those who hawk knock-off merchandise or fraudulent services to unsuspecting customers are seen as total shysters.

False Profits
"Televangelist priests who have hundreds of millions, don't pay taxes, and tell people they don't love God if they don't keep donating. Preach. Have a TV church. But don't scam people out of millions a month! There was one guy, Jesse Duplantist, who told his followers that God wanted him to have a new jet, and they needed to give him $54M to buy it because his current jet was outdated. Kenneth Copeland defended his jet, saying that he couldn't be expected to get on a crappy plane full of dope heads and demons. Excuse me? You mean the people who you're supposed to serve who send you money?"

Solicitors and job recruiters don't have your best interests in mind when they're thinking about collecting their paychecks.
It's All An Act
"Those recruitment people for fake talent agencies. They do these whole presentations (often in person!) to get new actors and models to sign up at the end with an initiation fee sometimes in the thousands. A lot of the people being scammed don’t know the company is a scam until afterwards when they look them up on Yelp or the BBB. The recruiter usually seems legit. I don’t know how they sleep at night knowing that’s how they make the entirety of their income."
– Charmien
For Show
"I almost got scammed into one of those as a 14 year old. My best friend and I begged our parents to take us to a 'modelling agency' recruitment event. Of course we were both "accepted", but then they had to speak with our parents, to get the money. My parents saw right through it. They didn't explain right away why they were saying no, and I was so angry and said terrible things to them on the way home. Later they explained that they thought it was suspicious, and that if they wanted my 'talent' they should be offering me a contract and money, not the other way around. My friend's parents did fall for it, and it turned out to be a pretty much just what they used to call 'finishing school'. It was basically classes on 'society/social etiquette' and other bullsh*t. Stuff like 'don't put your dirty napkin on your plate' and proper table settings and what utensil is for what."
"It was Barbizon."

The Guilt
"Bro I could barely handle working at a Wells Fargo call center back in 2012. They hounded you to try selling anything and everything to every person you talked to."
"Customer has $3.27 in their account and has overdrawn 15 times in the last 2 months? Better try getting them to sign up for another checking account (which usually had monthly fees) and also get them to apply for a credit card for overdraft protection. Supervisors didn’t care. You were expected to pitch something to every customer you talked to. I hated myself every minute I worked there."
– istrx13
Getting Off Pitch
"When I worked at guitar center I had to pitch the following to every customer one after another no exceptions."
"Pitch the credit card, if no pitch the layaway, if no pitch trading the gear they own. No matter what they buy pitch the pro coverage (warrenty$) don't forget to pitch the string club, and don't forget to pitch the lessons. Do not fail to mention that we offer rentals. Do not fail to get their phone number, email, and address before they leave. Assure them that we will not call them."
"Don't forget to call them and pitch the upcoming sale..."

If you feel good about how you've earned your money at the end of the day, you've hit the jackpot.
Unfortunately, the same can't be said of others.
Humans fall in and out of grace with one another constantly.
At first, you can really like someone.
Enjoy their company.
Spend tons of quality time with them.
Then one day, they drop the facade of their character and show you some true colors.
Then respect goes out the window.

Well this is a long list of nonsense people. Steer clear.
When relationships go south, couples tend to overlook the fact that when they first got together, they were the best versions of themselves.
Over time, true colors are revealed and the poor character traits that reveal the incompatibility of a significant other make an individual question how they ever got together in the first place.
The same type of disappointment can be said outside of personal relationships we have with others.
Curious to hear examples of when people started feeling let down, Redditor zztop610 asked:
"What have you slowly lost all respect for?"
Objectionable conduct and behaviors of various organizations and groups have let people down.
No Loyalty
"Company loyalty. I had only been at my first post- college job a year when they had layoffs. But they didn't get rid of the new person, they fired my coworker who had just celebrated her 15 year work anniversary. They didn't even do it in a dignified way and the way she sobbed while packing up her things is burned into my memory."
"Now I don't think twice when a better opportunity pops up. I doubled my income when I left that place and went to the next. There's no reason to stick around a job any longer than it serves you because your job won't think twice about getting rid of you to save a few bucks."

Unforgivable Design
"I have what I recognize to be the smallest complaint about Netflix. When I open the app on my Fire TV, the first thing I see is the Netflix logo animation and their signature 'TA-DUM'. Then it opens to the profile selection screen. And once I select a profile, what do I get next? The exact same logo animation and sound. Even after seeing it so many times, I still wonder briefly if the app just crashed and restarted. But no, eventually the home screen comes up and everything is fine. Why would you program the app to play the same transition screen twice in two different transitions? I don't know the first thing about UI theory, but I know this particular behavior is jarring enough for me to notice and be annoyed by it, which tells me it's a bad design."

On a deeper level, I started losing faith in humanity.
The country has become increasingly divided–evidenced by my Facebook "friends" spreading misinformation that are direct swipes targeting my personal well-being and lifestyle.
The early part of the pandemic didn't help matters, but where are we headed as people? I'd like more examples of compassion and kindness please.
I can only rely on dog and cat TikTok videos to temporarily lift my spirits for so long.
