Jobs People Wouldn't Do Even If They Paid $150k
Reddit user syjfwbaobfwl asked: 'What is a job you would not do even if you were paid 150k a month?'
Finding the perfect job is a difficult, some might even say impossible task.
So, when people can't find a job that necessarily fills them with joy, they might find one that at least fills their bank account.
Making the fact that they aren't doing the work they dreamed they'd be doing their whole lives forgivable, as they can afford nice clothes and fancy vacations.
However, there are some jobs that some people will simply never do, no matter how much money they are offered.
"What is a job you would not do even if you were paid 150k a month?"

Everyone deserves to be paid a living wage.
At the same time, no one deserves to work a job that slowly sucks out their souls and makes them feel bad about themselves and the work they do.
If making over $1 million a year doesn't make you forget how unhappy you are at your place of work, it might be time to check the classifieds, or go back to grad school.
I spent most of my adolescent and teen life making money from babysitting and tutoring, so I was really excited when I got a job as a hostess at a restaurant. Not only was it at a place my friends frequented, but I would finally be able to relate to all the people who had jobs at a real company.
I worked at that restaurant for a year and a half, but it only took me a month to learn that once I left, I’d never again want to serve.
Hosting is grueling. You have to be on your feet for hours at a time. The job also sours your outlook on people in general. Guests are rude, or they ask you to make a modification and scream bloody murder once you do it. They ask you to move to another table, and you accommodate them, but then the servers get mad at you for adding to their load or taking away the potential of tips.
Now that I’m removed from that situation, I mostly think of the good times. However, whenever someone asks me if I’d ever host again, I have to stop myself from laughing in their face.
Redditors faced the same plight with certain kinds of jobs, and were only too eager to share what those jobs were.
It all started when Redditor figinjosejospe asked:
“What’s a job or profession you’d absolutely never take?”

Life Or Death Homework
"Definitely would never be a lawyer, my parents are lawyers and have watched so many other lawyers die young because of the stress of the job. If you think about it, it’s like having homework for the rest of your life only some of the most important decisions rely on your ability to argue. It’s a bunch of paperwork and court dates, I don’t know anyone that enjoys being in court. It’s a glamorized profession but in reality it’s very hard to get rich in and it’s a even harder profession for women. Notice most of the rich lawyers you see are old white men. I would argue it’s one of the worst jobs."

The Truth Sets You Free
"I worked at a telemarketing place for less than a week. It was the worst job I have ever had (and I once worked at a dairy unloading and cleaning the delivery trucks after they were done, in August). It was in the '90s and there was a script specifically designed to trip people up and agree to changing their long distance provider. After the second day I'd just tell the people, "Yeah, I'm captain scammer, calling from Scammy McScammers long distance service, do you want us to rip you off and change your service without your knowledge". Still people would be ok with it."
– Comfortable_Life9173
Heartbreaking.
"Child welfare worker. My father did that as his third and final career and counted the days until he was eligible for retirement. He just couldn’t stand it. He was providing a needed service for the community, but got no love from any of the other players. Kids hated him because he was removing them from their (abusive) parents. Parents hated him because he was taking their kids, however justified. Lawyers were endlessly attacking him, and judges liked to crap on the social worker. It’s not as if the pay was any good either. That is a job I would never do."

Traveling the globe can be fun.
It's something many people do and should do, if you can afford it.
But there are places we may want to be a little cautious about.
You don't want to give in to gossip, but doing research on geography should be vital.
Otherwise, you'll be saying,
"I'll skip that trip."
Redditor JeffLaRue asked about the destinations many people are choosing to avoid due to what they've heard about visiting:
"What city will you NEVER visit based on it's reputation?"
I have a long list... just because. I'm a homebody.

"I spent two weeks in Caracas in 2006 or 2007 and had a wonderful time. We had locals with us and were in safe areas though. Except I liked this local girl and followed her into downtown where she took me to some sketchy park and ran off (to buy drugs I later learned). I ended up basically helping a local dealer practice his English."
"He approached me and started asking me questions and trying to speak English. He had a visible gun in his waste-band and was stopping to sell people on his product every 5 minutes, but was otherwise super friendly. I think him taking a shine to me was what kept me safe as an obvious American all alone. Not sure though. Maybe it was just a better time to be there as an American."

"I worked somewhat near Egypt and had a number of coworkers (we are all males and military contractors) who visited there thinking it was just a stigma about the harassing. People Confess Which Things They've Managed To Avoid Their Entire Lives
There are some things in life which seem like a rite of passage which everyone in the world goes through at least once.
This could be anything from the frivolous, such as eating ice cream or getting drunk for the first time, to the slightly more serious, such as breaking a bone, or needing an operation requiring you to stay in the hospital.
Everyone must go through these and other things at least once in their life, right?
You'd be surprised.
Indeed, there are in fact many people out there who have managed to steer clear of things which are somewhat avoidable, such as going on an upside down roller coaster, to the seemingly inevitable, such as getting a tooth pulled.
"What have you managed to avoid your whole life?"

We'd like to think we can avoid somethings which deep down, we know are inevitable.
But, be it through preventative measures or pure dumb luck, we can at least feel proud of ourselves for avoiding them for the time being.
And if more singletons viewed the lack of a ring on their finger as an accomplishment, one can only imagine the world would be a much happier place.
Though they might not always be easy to notice, being single has numerous advantages.
Primarily, that you are never beholden to anyone, and can live your life exactly as you so choose.
Of course, for some people, there is the cold comfort that being single means that you are out of a bad relationship.
However difficult ending that relationship may have been, returning to single life afterwards also allows you to re-evaluate what you want, or even what you deserve, in a partner.
Giving you the foundation to avoid some past mistakes.

"Help her get her finances and medical needs in order."
"I really stuck my neck out."
"Gave it 150%."
"Exhausted myself regularly just so I could help her out."
"I just wanted to see her quality of life improve."
"I just wanted her to feel like life was going ok."
"It was never enough."
"Eventually she moved in with me, and spent almost a year doing nothing but playing PS4, eating, and sleeping."
"Didn't even start looking for a job."
"Eventually I ended it, and a few months later she moved back to her mom's place."
"The day after, I woke up to literally hundreds of messages from her begging me to take her back."
"Saying that she'll change."
"She'll do anything."
"She had forgotten how much worse her life was."
"I try to stay friends with her, but she's taken to making herself the victim in our relationship since we broke up."
"Maybe I wasn't perfect, I can admit that."
"But I willingly went to hell and back on multiple occasions just to try and make her smile."
"It crushes me that after everything, she trivializes everything I put into the relationship."
"This post was longer than I thought, but writing this out was therapeutic."- SinisterPixel
It's easy for people who have been single for a long time to run into the arms of the first person they can.
Though before doing so, it's always good to reflect on any past relationships and why they didn't work out.
Because when push comes to shove, being single is infinitely better than being in a relationship with someone who doesn't make you completely happy.
