People Debate What Doesn't Make Sense In The Harry Potter Universe
J.K! Help us make this be reasonable!
No story is ever perfect. Every movie, tv series, book and sometimes a song will leave some questions unanswered. Often it's a clever point of the art to not tie up every loose end but, sometimes it's odd, or even poor storytelling by forgetting an arc or character and not leave emptiness that could be answered. J.K is pretty brills so let's assume she knows every unanswered point.
Redditor u/GreendayG11 wanted to hear from the Potterheads out there to about some story points that don't always add up by asking.... What just doesn't make sense about the Harry Potter universe?
Triwizard.
GiphyI know I'm late to the thread, but I've never understood something about the Triwizard tournament. For the spectators, two of the three tasks must be super boring.
Here, watch these people jump in a lake. Now wait.
Now, watch these people disappear into a hedge maze. Now wait.
Whee. Sounds like fun to me.

Not even Malfoy.
That none of the kids in Harry's first year knew about the sorting hat.
Literally not one. Not even Malfoy. Not even Ron with his 5 brothers going before him as well as his parents.
Yet in the end of the last book, Harry is openly discussing the event with his son.

The Dentist.Â
At Slughorn's Slug Club meetings, Hermione brings up her father being a dentist, which gets confused stares from the students and Slughorn. Yet, in the Chamber of Secrets a clock in the Weasley house can be seen, each hand with a family member's face, and many indications of where they might be at any given moment.
One of those places is dentist.

Accio....
Also, Accio being a fourth-year spell.
You can tell that this is only because JKR didn't think of it 'til GoF, because this incredibly simple yet useful spell appears exactly zero times in previous books.

Or just the way magic is introduced into new books as a device to advance the plot, then promptly forgotten about. Also, these plot devices will never be considered for any use other than to advance the plot, no matter how logical and basic.

Muggle Music.Â
They don't listen to any muggle music. Some of them grew up with muggles, so they should be into it. Same goes for TV shows.

I wonder if any muggle borns keep in touch with old friends, and the friends think that they're essentially retarded because they have the education level of a 10 year old and know basically nothing about what's going on in the world.

And supposedly only for the best of the best.
I can assure you if my kid is at Eton or Phillips Exeter and there's the ghost of wizard Hitler living in the back of a teacher's head one year, and then kids being petrified and a possessed girl finding a snake dungeon in the girl's bathroom the next, and then a supposed murderer hanging around campus the next year, I'm going to have to evaluate whether or not my kid stays at that school.

Where do the pure blood kids go before Hogwarts/secondary school? Do they have a wizarding primary school? Are they homeschooled? They don't go to muggle schools because they know jack about the muggle world I need answers.

Have a word...
I don't understand why Dumbledore tolerated the way the Dursleys treated Harry so poorly. Even if he didn't want Harry to know that he was a wizard-world rock star, he might have had Hagrid drop by one day when Harry wasn't around to have a word with Vernon.

Dumbledore was a great man.....
GiphyDumbledore was a great man. I got massive respect for the dude. But when it comes to his role as a headmaster I would say he is a pretty incompetent one. He had no control over administration and had no idea what's going on around here.

Even when J.K. Rowling isn't making random additions to the canon of the wizarding world––and the moments when she isn't, at least these days, seem few and far between––there are a slew of problematic things about Hogwarts, and today's burning question from Redditor MagicNoodle ("What's the sh*ttiest part about attending Hogwarts?") is an indication that attending the place would probably not all it's cracked up to be.
It's always a fun idea when we look at our favorite worlds of entertainment fantasy and wonder.... what if all of our favorite characters could somehow interact. How cool would that be? Or maybe at the very least the beloved scribes fashioning the stories could take a strike in a different make believe world. One writer I believe anyone would let run amok in any world, reality or fantasy would be literary Queen, Ms. J.K. Rowling. Can you imagine?
Redditor u/bogblocker wanted to discuss a possibility that many Potterheads would need Xanax to discuss by asking.... If Marvel's superheroes were made by J.K. Rowling, what unnecessary characteristic would she had given them?
J.K. Rowling Crushes Troll Who Criticizes Her After She Gives Writing Advice To Her Fans 🔥
It should be common sense to not pick a fight of words with an author, right? They practice with those weapons for a living. An anonymous troll learned the hard way not to try and spew hate at J.K. Rowling.
Earlier this week, Rowling posted a tweet about writing advice. Like many famous authors, Rowling is often asked about how to write and what rules she uses.
While she's not a big fan of rules, she does have some advice.
I’m often asked questions about writing, so here are some answers too long for Twitter! https://t.co/atmzlUy2Cj— J.K. Rowling (@J.K. Rowling) 1546931418.0
The response was very appreciated among her fans.

However, here's where things take a turn. A Twitter user thought he could get away with questioning her writing and political views in a very rude way.
Spoiler Alert: He couldn't.

The troll tries accusing Rowling's writing of being "shit" and the writer herself of being "politically delusional". Rowling is not having any of it.
Despite the questions being very uncivil, Rowling responded very politely, taking each question at its word. That is until you get to the "implied" third question where she calls out the troll for what he is.
You don't get to be the queen of writing for nothing.

The author of the Harry Potter series, Rowling is known for her sly wit when responding to trolls. She had an extended feud with Piers Morgan where she got him to unknowingly insult his own former glowing review of her success. And she's taken particular aim at President Donald Trump when he goes on his twitter rampages.
Mother Explains to Anti-Vaxxers What Happens To Her Cancer-Stricken Child After She's Exposed To Measles
The anti-vaccination movement is dangerous not only to the children who don't receive their disease immunity, but also to medically vulnerable individuals who once benefitted from the "herd immunization" of the population.
For instance, mother Nicole Stellon O'Donnell recently wrote a Twitter thread showing what happened when her daughter, who can't receive immunizations due to her cancer treatments, encountered the child of an anti-vaxxer in a supermarket.
O'Donnell shared a terrifying story of what happens when anti-vaxxers insist keeping their children untreated will keep them healthy.

According to the World Health Organization and CDC, all children who are able should receive their vaccinations.
Parents who deny their children safety from these once-thwarted diseases are not only putting them in danger, but putting the other families in danger as well.
