Who hasn't, every now and again, witnessed someone doing something, or behaving a certain way and thought "that's so f*cked up", or something to that extent?
And yet, off-putting as it was to us, and one assumes many others, we will often witness these things happen over and over again.
Leading one to assume that, "f*cked up" as it is, these off-putting behaviors or things are largely accepted in modern society.
Or, everyone simply chooses to ignore it.
Redditor xk543x was curious to hear what tasteless, or inappropriate things people tend to notice, but look the other way, leading them to ask:
"What is something f*cked up that we just ignore?"
Your body is your temple.
"Everyone’s poor eating and sleeping habits."- macaronsforeveryone
Can NOT be ignored.
"Slavery is still a thing."- Pbjabsandwich-
"Child slave labor to make some of the developed countries' goods I'd imagine."- Akira282
Why people don't feel inclined to smile.
"How much dental work costs and the fact that dental insurance covers next to nothing."- OkCat9433

"Mental health."
"As in the regular kind."
"We are overworked and don't have enough time these days to ourselves and our loved ones."- Jackster22
Who can afford to live ANYWHERE?!
"The living cost not being even near matched to the majority of peoples incomes, in the UK anyways."
"The government have advised people that they should use things like gas and electric as sparingly as possible this coming winter if they want to still afford their bills and other necessities."
"Food, petrol, clothes, rent etc."- princessr444

"Children dying of hunger."- laperuana
Information traveling at the speed of light... but at what cost?
"The internet's impact on society."
"Most people prefer to go with the grain on common behavior or opinions due to natural human herd mentality, and independent thinking not being very common."
"The problem is the internet gives rise to destructive, toxic, harmful, discriminatory, illogical, and ignorant cultures and ideologies."
"The majority of people who spend lots of time on social media will take influence from social media to fit in without even thinking about what they’re doing, or reflecting on whether what they’re are viewing is good, bad, true, or false."- nsfwcontentthrowaway
Do you know where that came from?
"How everything is made."
"Plastic leagues beyond what our recycling could ever offset, illegally sourced components and materials mined at the expense of local ecosystems."
"Child and essentially slave-labor."
"The list keeps rolling, but I just buy them because I like how the shoes look and I can afford it."- Rip3456·
Some might be genuinely unaware of these things, while others might choose to ignore them.
But these all remain very real problems.
Next time we become aware of something like this, rather than just thinking "that's so f*cked up", maybe we can take some time to research how we can help?
Every little bit counts.
Cat Goes To The Extreme To Get Some Attention From Its Owners In Hilarious Viral Video
In many ways, our pets are like our furry children who demand attention the same way a human child would. And, just like a human child, pets tend to misbehave if they're not given the attention they believe is their due.
Reddit user u/otiefish learned this the hard way when he left his cat alone too long in his dining room. Frustrated and bored, his feline decided to show him how it felt about being neglected by performing a minor acrobatics routine.
Fortuantely Otiefish caught the entire display on video and posted it to Reddit:
Reddit user AvogadrosArmy knew exactly what was going through the cat's mind:
"You gonna ignore me? Oh yah? looks around for a mess to make"
redditslim painted a bleak picture of cats:
"I swear they're little terrorists, sometimes. Little balls of hate, who just want to see the world burn. Sometimes."
toastyghost looked at things a little more positively:
"Adorable little fluffy balls of hate 😍"
rabidjellybean couldn't help but notice how many cats loved to dangle:
"Meanwhile mine just risks her safety by hanging off the upstairs railing. She knows I don't like it."
LollyHutzenklutz has been there:
"That would be my cat, Bindi! When I dare to "ignore" her, she just looks around for the most annoying thing she can do. Last night she managed to push an entire box of cookies off the counter and into the garbage... at least I can say she has good aim? 😒
"If I didn't love her so much, I swear; there are times when I feel like tossing her (back) on the streets! I'd never do that, of course, but the thought has crossed my mind. LOL"
snowlights has a cat with its own technique:
"My cat will find something plastic to furiously chew on. Then I have to chase her around to take the plastic away so she doesn't swallow it. She knows exactly what she's doing."
RoutineTwo has two cats that can't wait until later:
"My boys are a bit more direct when I ignore them. Like occasionally walking up to me and 'patting' me, with a claw, in the small of my back. It's sort of like their version of NOW."
N3R0Bisangwa has seen behavior like this before:
"Just like a little petulant child. Lmaooo"
Para11axis thinks cats are smart...maybe TOO smart:
"My cat has learned that scratching the carpet gets attention, so every morning at 5am she lightly scratches the carpet to wake me up and feed her. I know I should ignore her but I end up just groaning and flailing an arm in her direction, at which point she runs towards her food bowl."
applepieq has a cat which will cause chaos at the drop of a hat:
"Are you ignoring me? Fine. Watch me now cuz I'm gonna DESTROY YOUR HOUSE'
"My cute little cat likes to manipulate me by chewing something that's not food (my backpack, the remote control, etc) He prefers things that make noise like plastic bags or plastic flowers."
-AUniqueName- never expected cat ownership to involve so much Velcro:
"My cats enjoys knocking over my bedside table lamps. I had to Velcro them down.. the lamps, I don't Velcro the cats."
Daddyless_Princess could hear the cat singing as it climbed:
"IIIIIIII'M GONNA SWIIIIIIIING FROM THE CHANDELIIIIER"
All of you cat owners out there had better start giving your critters some attention or who knows what havoc they might wreak!
