Guy Advises Men To Keep A 'Lady Drawer' For Guests, But People Can't Get Over The Bizarre Items In His Own Drawer
A male Twitter user's attempt at accommodating his female guests is turning heads for all the wrong reasons.
Twitter user @DaddyAllDay recently shared his bro tip of keeping a "lady drawer"โbut the contents of his own drawer drew ire and confusion from actual females.
I feel like every guy needs a โlady drawerโ if you plan on having frequent guests. https://t.co/wgjExZOlItโ ClawDaddy BLM (@ClawDaddy BLM) 1578783016.0
The controversial tweet reads:
"I feel like every guy needs a 'lady drawer' if you plan on having frequent guests."
Included was a picture of his own drawer- filled with strange items that may or may not be helpful to women.
While the drawer did have some useful things, such as tampons and pads, it also includes an open pregnancy test, two bottles of nail polish remover and a dildo.
Fantastic.
While the sentiment is kind, sort of, the contents of this drawer are truly bizarre, and weirdly sexist. Women aren't all the sameโand definitely don't want to share certain items with or even be reminded of the women before them.
@DaddyAllDay, who lists his name as BassFather, wrote a follow up Tweet.
"For the record, I'm not saying to go buy all this sh*t. You really just need makeup wipes, tampons, hair ties, and a hair brush. I just had all that laying round so I designated a drawer for it."

Sharon Stone Wasn't Impressed With Bumble's 'Basic Instinct' Quip After Unblocking Her Account
The Bumble location-based social and dating app has apologized after blocking actress Sharon Stone's profile for fear her account was fake.
But when they reinstated her account after verifying her identity, Stone was not amused about their apology.
The actress made famous by the 1992 thriller Basic Instinct expressed she did not appreciate Bumble referencing her character from the movie.
When Stone first discovered she had been blocked by the app, she took to Instagram and Twitter and wrote:
"I went on the @bumble dating sight and they closed my account"
"Some users reported that it couldn't possibly be me!
Hey @bumble, is being me exclusionary?"
"Don't shut me out of the hive"
The gaffe was rectified and Bumble offered a swift apology.
However, the manner in which they expressed their regret on Twitter fell flat.
It started with promise.
"Looks like our users thought you were too good to be true."
"We've made sure that you won't be blocked again. We hope that everyone in our community takes a sec to verify their profiles."
They could have stopped there.
But they didn't.
They invoked Stone's Basic Instinct character Catherine Tramellโa serial killer who forever immortalized leg-crossing as something highly erotic.
The role remained controversial for the actress.
"Catherine Tramell from Basic Instinct gets a pass today!."

In her acceptance speech, Stone addressed how the scandalous flashing scene we all know from Basic Instinct changed her life forever.
After Billy Porter brought out a chair for her to sit on onstage, she asked the audience to join her in recreating the famous leg-crossing moment from 27 years ago.
She prefaced the demonstration by explaining she consented to removing her panties for the scene at the request of her director who assured her "we won't see anything."
After she had the audience participate, Stone asked:
"Do you feel empowered?"
"Each and every one of you is going to have a moment, like mine. A moment that changes your life. When you might be aware of when it's happening. And one you might not."
"You're going to have it if you haven't already, and you're going to be held accountable for it if you haven't already"

Little Girl Is Not Having Any Of Princess Jasmine Needing Aladdin In Order To See The World In Applause-Worthy Viral Video
One of the most iconic moments in Disney's Aladdin and its various iterations (including the Broadway production and the remake) is the song "A Whole New World," sung by Aladdin and Jasmine as they soar over the world on their magic carpet.
The song starts off with Aladdin singing "I can show you the world," and little Madison Jade says that Jasmine is perfectly capable of doing that herself, thanks very much.
Here is the song from the original animated Aladdin (1992) film:

"I can show you the world,/ take you wonder by wonder,/ over, sideways, and under,/ on a magic carpet ride."
Well, according to one little girl who saw the movie, Jasmine doesn't need a boy to "take her to see the world."
Madison Jade, 4, had a videoed conversation with her mom about the Aladdin remake a day before going to see the film.
"Jasmine needs to go see the world by herself because Aladdin needs to just stay there and Jasmine can just go by herself," she said. "There is not enough space on the carpet" for both Aladdin and Jasmine, so Aladdin can just stay home.

Jasmine showed up in the Disney Renaissance period of the late 80s/early-to-mid 90s alongside a slew of other Disney princesses such as Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Belle from Beauty And The Beast, and Pocahontas from Pocahontas.
The princesses are often subject to feminist readings, as many of their stories are centered around men. Jasmine often ends up in a tricky middling place, as she is literally locked in the palace for most of the film, though she is opinionated and fiercely independent otherwise.

Octavia Spencer Shares A Story About LeBron James Helping Her Negotiate A Contract To Make A Powerful Point
On January 26th, Octavia Spencer, star of The Help, The Shape of Water, and Hidden Figures, took part in a Sundance panel in Park City, Utah.
During the conversation, Spencer emphasized the importance of male allies in the fight for equality by telling the story of how LeBron James, a producer on her new Netflix limited series, stepped in to make sure she was paid an appropriate amount for her work.
Spencer will be playing the titular role in the new Netflix show Madam C.J. Walker.
During the panel, she told the story about how James's influence made the difference in making sure she was paid what she deserved:
"I have to say, when I was negotiating my deal for Madam C.J., LeBron James had to intervene. So we need all our male counterparts to be in the fight with us."

According to Bustle, Elwes agreed with Spencer's point on the importance of male allies, but also acknowledged that men often fall short of their hopes:
"I think men are on a steep learning curve in Hollywood. I was in the middle of a negotiation, actually in the last two days, where the lawyer for the male star was saying, 'Oh, he should get paid more than she should,' and I was like, 'Absolutely not, they're going to be most favored nations in this deal, they're gonna get the same deal basically."

Meanwhile, female allies also make a huge difference in supporting each other and ensuring equitable pay.
Spencer told the story of how, after speaking of her struggle with Jessica Chastain, Chastain had her pay increased five-fold:
"I told her my story and we talked numbers and she was quiet, and she had no idea that that's what it was like for women of color. Fast forward to last week, we're making five times what we asked for. Jessica Chastain believes, she is walking the walk."

"I'm a pragmatist, and I think that what's exciting is, for me right now, is I feel like there's a paradigm shift and women are leading the charge in that."
"We just have to continue the momentum, and we have to remember that all of us, we need to work together, men and women. We need to advocate for each other."
