People Speculate How Humans Would Respond To A Warning From Outer Space
The difficult part about writing science fiction isn't so much coming up with futuristic ideas, rather it's coming up with how humanity will react to those radical new ideas.
Humanity is a tricky species to wrangle. One minute, we'll reveal our inner most goodness and donate time and money to charity, and the next there will be people reacting to a worldwide pandemic in such a way it makes it last much longer.
With no reasonable way to deduce how we'll react, science fiction futures becomes so much harder to predict.
So what would humanity do if aliens decided they want to drop by our planet?
Reddit user, deeonedarian, wanted your opinion on what would happen should aliens offer a warning when they asked:
"If a radio message from outer space requested, 'be quiet they’ll hear you, turn off all electronics' how would Earth react?"
As soon as that message hits a wave of confusion and fear would spread through the populace, that much we can be certain of.

Remember That High School That Did 'Alien: The Play'? Sigourney Weaver Just Surprised Them.
High School theater performers and directors often want to take on ambitious projects.
North Bergen High School did just that as you may recall from our earlier coverage of the story.
The New Jersey public school decided to turn the movie Alien into a stage play for their spring production. Talk about an ambitious undertaking for a school drama club.
With a reported budget of $3,500, the sets and costumes were made from recycled materials. But news of their production quickly went viral, attracting attention from some pretty important people in the Alien franchise of films.
The North Bergen Drama Club got online kudos from the original film's star, Sigourney Weaver, and received a letter from Alien director Ridley Scott giving credit to their:
"creativity, imagination and determination."
The 40th anniversary of the franchise was Friday. It coincided with a much requested encore performance of Alien: The Play.
But North Bergen Drama Club got a big surprise this time. Weaver, who played Ripley in the Alien franchise, arrived at the school to attend and participate in the performance.

Weaver even took to the stage as the Xenomorph during the encore production.
Nick Sacco, the mayor of North Bergen, relayed information from New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts which has:
"presented each student of the cast and crew with a $1k scholarship to their summer program as well as each Senior with a $10k scholarship to the college."
He also shared the video below, which was aired by the local news.

If you've been following along with my writing, you'll know that I talk about my childhood and my family a lot. One of the things that comes up repeatedly is that my family encouraged some "strange" beliefs in me as a kid because they thought it was kind of funny. They totally let me believe that the moon followed me around individually because it loved me so much.
For years I never questioned that I was the "moon Princess." I never treated it like it gained me any special powers or anything, just like it was my job to be the one to talk to the moon and make sure it was in a good mood and knew it was loved. I treated it kind of like having a celestial puppy.
That moment when I suddenly realized there was no actual way this was a fact blew my mind - not only at how long my family could let an inside joke run, but at how much it proved I was gullible. I never questioned my parents, why would I? They could just ... lie to me like that? What? Mind. Blown.
