2019 is a done deal. That's okay. 2020 is gonna be better. So lets purge. Let us all gather and let go and release all that no longer serves us. Anything 2019 that plagues us, holds us back. new resolutions are underway. A new year, a new beginning.

Things got hard with the man that I love and instead of stepping up I ran. I did this in September of 2018. I'll carry the regret with me into 2020. savvy-skyy
I ran twice. The first time was when I first met my husband. The second time I ran was because I was having an emotional breakdown and didn't know what to do. I ran and for four months I lived with friends. I finally came out of the fog and depression and ran home. That was 3 and a half years ago and we are stronger than ever. Sometimes running back is ok. My husband and i used to fight all the time because i was trying to push him away and never felt good enough for love. It's been really rough but now it's amazing. AngelFears1676

Sometimes you just gotta say no. Had a friend of my aunt who wanted massive amounts of junk hauled away, for free. Heavy junk. She said I was the only person who could do it because I had a pickup truck and no kids so I'd have time. She had sons and grandsons close by, but they had already hauled away the good stuff. I declined and made no excuses. If she were alone in the world, I'd have gone. But I'm not wasting my day off hauling away the junk deemed worthless by her kinfolk who live two minutes away. Not trying to lose weight sooner. I started my 'weight loss journey' in August and I've dropped 41lbs since. If I started at the beginning of the year like I intended to, I'd probably have lost the entire 80 lbs instead of only being halfway. itsashleyjohn

GiphyEnding my gym membership in January and not exercising the whole year. After putting on 25 pounds, I decided to join the gym again recently. DeathSpiral321
Today is a new day. You made a start, took the first step. Look at every day as a day where you can do something, no matter how small, and pretty soon you will see a difference in how you feel and then how you look and then how you feel about yourself. It is just a series of tiny choices you make each day and you CAN do it. Before you think I am blowing smoke up your butt, I have lost 65 lbs in the last 4 years by just making small efforts each day. Some days were good, some were bad and some were great. But every small step I took have added up from being 228 lbs to being 163 this morning. Not yet at my goal, but I know I can do it. And so can you. ExGomiGirl

People Share The Biggest Changes In Themselves They've Made In The Past Year
Making changes can be difficult, but they're totally worth it when improving the quality of your life.
2019 is ending soon. As a year comes to its end, we tend to think back on how much our lives have changed.
Redditor u/Burn-It-For-Me wanted to know if anyone made big life changes and asked, What's been the biggest change in you over the past year?
10. Your job can really impact your happiness
"Found a job that makes me happy. Overall biggest change, I am happy."
"I did find a job that makes me happy and moved across the country for it.
Coming into work happy every day is such a huge change to my life and something I've never really experienced before."
9. A long commute can drive you crazy
Giphy"Moving closer to my workplace, reducing my commute from 1 hour to 25 minutes changed my life and I was much happier."
8. Look the world in the face!
"I started to walk with my head up rather than looking at the ground. That first tiny step meant over the next couple years my confidence improved dramatically"
7. Mindfulness leads to happiness
"I started meditating. I went through something not super great about two years ago, and last year (after trying a ton of different things) I decided to be open minded and give meditation a shot.
I can say with confidence it's the best thing I've ever done for my mental health. Therapy and medications did help me, but meditation was the biggest thing that helped me retrain my brain."
6. You also save a lot on hair products
Giphy"Started shaving my head.
Gettin' old, the baldness was getting bad enough that I finally got to the 'shave the whole thing' point."
"It looks great on a lot of guys. Accepting baldness with dignity is the best way to go, IMHO."
5. You don't know how strong you really are
"Spent 8 days in the hospital, during which we closed on our first house. Got married three days after getting out. The whole thing gave me a lot of perspective and I learned exactly how much stress I can handle before melting down."
4. Love is love
"Started dating my best friend of several years. I don't deserve her, she's the best thing to ever happen to me. Kind of sucks, because I have to hide it from my family. We're both girls, and most of my family are strongly opinionated Christians."
3. Cutting out toxic people is always a good idea
"I quit drugs and partying. I cut ties with a lot of toxic "friends" and moved away from the city I lived in. I've spent the year searching myself and preparing myself for a better future. I did it alone for the most part, which has definitely taught me a whole lot about myself and others as well. I'm beginning to live my life for me and that feels so good."
2. The best button is the "mute" button
"Started muting people on twitter/facebook. Used to not do it because 'real life doesnt have a mute button' but guess what. Twitter does."
1. Two people's lives were changed...
"I adopted a baby from a family member who wasn't ready to be a parent. I've started to realize that it's not always about what's right or wrong or taking responsibility. Sometimes it's just about helping someone when life is rough. If you just support the people around you, you will be happier."
People Share Everything You Wanted To Know About Marie Kondo And The Magic Of Tidying Up
If you don't know the name 'Marie Kondo' then you've clearly been living under a rock; or you're just waking from your New Year's Eve liquor coma because honey..... 2019 is all about Marie and how she is going to organize and cleanse our lives.
Netflix's 'Tidying Up' hosted by Marie Kondo is sweeping the nation. Marie is the mother of the KonMari method. What is that you ask? It is the method defining the act of taking all that you possess, materialistically, pulling it together and separating it into different categories. Then... you go one category at a time and begin a 'purge.' The idea is that you continue ownership of only the things that "spark joy!" Once you accept this merriment, you find a place for each item in your life. Whatever remains after i.e, all that is joyless, well that stuff is banished. Give it away, burn it, destroy it, who cares, just get it out of your sight.
Marie's methods have been met with some controversy and blowback for being a bit... extra, but for the most part we've all become obsessed. Mainly because in our heart of hearts we're all hoarders in some way and we are dying on the inside to find productive ideas to change that behavior. So let's learn a few things about Marie, because she is not going anywhere anytime soon. If Netflix is smart they've renewed her for a decade because she is basically on the path to be our Oprah for tidiness.
Molly Ringwald Just Named A Very Worthy Successor To Hold Today's 'Teen Queen' Title ๐
In the 1980's, Molly Ringwald reigned supreme as the "Teen Queen" of the era after starring in some of the most beloved young adult films of all time. With director John Hughes, she carved the role for herself with leading roles in Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, and The Breakfast Club, but now she's ready to pass the crown on to a teen star of the present day.
Molly Ringwald, teen queen of John Hughes movies, turned 50 on Sunday. I'm not sure how that's even possible. https://t.co/FVYQY4ktu4โ Jimmie Tramel (@Jimmie Tramel) 1519179343
In a recent interview with CNN, Ringwald said she had recently watched a movie which she felt captured the late Hughes's spirit perfectly:
"[The John Hughes movies] were really unique and really fun and he basically got that whole teen 'thing' in a way that nobody has gotten since, except for a movie that I really love that I think is the inheritance of John Hughes. To my mind, I think 'Eighth Grade' completely gets it. Elsie Fisher's performance is incredible. I think what it really shares with the John Hughes films is the fact that it's really funny and yet it's really moving."
Elsie Fisher and Molly Ringwald on the A24 podcast was a stroke of genius theyโre both soooo sweet and nice and wholesomeโ Tiffany (@Tiffany) 1544644979
Fisher has received numerous accolades for her realistic performance in Bo Burnham's directorial debut, including a Critic's Choice Award. According to Ringwald, the hype is well-deserved:
"I watched part of it with my husband and he was like, 'I don't know if I can watch this.' It was so emotional because it's a father and his daughter and we had just gone through that. My daughter is now in ninth grade, so we've kind of gone through that year. I really do think it's so perfect to make a movie about eighth grade because it's really the pinnacle. It's like the worst year possible. I really think that if you can get through eighth grade you can get through almost anything."
Twitter couldn't agree more:

With teen roles far behind her, Ringwald is now starring in All These Small Moments, written and directed by Melissa Miller Costanzo.

Ringwald was drawn to the film by its complex protagonist:
"What really moved me about this particular woman is she was just so real. She's so flawed. She's so sharp. She's in crisis. I look at her and if she can get out of bed that day and put on mascara and put her hair back, then it's a victory."

Ringwald recently wrote in The New Yorker about her time as an 80's star and how certain onscreen moments no longer hold up in the #MeToo era. However, speaking with CNN, she wanted to make it clear she wasn't trying to tarnish John Hughes' legacy:
"I feel like I had a real connection to all of those characters in those John Hughes movies. [I've had some] really amazing feedback from people I really respect. I think for the most part people understood it was a nuanced conversation. It was also something that was difficult for me to write. I didn't want it to be misinterpreted and look like in any way I was turning my back on John Hughes or those movies because I still think they have tremendous value."

This Guy's Motivational Dance Videos Are Brightening Days All Over The Internet โค
Donte Colley is a name you probably don't know but you'll probably be a fan by the time this article is over. The 21-year-old Canadian man is blessed with an amazing ability to dance, a desire to make people smile, and access to a smartphone. He combined his talents in a way that has the internet riding good vibes into 2019.
He calls what he does "motivational dance videos" and it's kind of a trip to explain. The basic premise is this: Donte is gonna bust a move. It will be amazing. As he dances, his moves combine with a motivational message, some emojis and a killer soundtrack (he once danced up a storm to the Law & Order theme). All combined, it's like having a meme bust a motivational twerk across your day.
So ... it's amazing and exactly the kind of thing we need in our lives right now.
The videos didn't start out for all of the internet to see at first. Believe it or not, he initially put all this work in just to make a few friends smile.
Speaking to BuzzFeed, he explained how making people happy is at the core of what he is trying to do:
"When I first started making videos I was getting positive feedback from my friends who would message me and be like 'this made me smile today' so it just kind of motivated me more to keep making them... Social media can become such a grey, overwhelming and kind of defeating platform just because it's seen as everybody's highlight reel and it's like everybody's living their best lives, and that can kind of make us question our purpose from time to time. So I guess I make these videos because I just like making people feel good. It makes it feel worth doing, and that's all I could ever ask for. To make people feel better especially because we all go through lows in our lives and we all have our own struggles that we deal with on a day to day, so just being able to bring some light or joy to somebody, it makes it feel worth doing. It definitely recharges me and motivates me more to keep going."
Here are some more of our favorite videos. Brace yourself for some serious feel-good energy.
His most recent video is a ridiculously elaborate F-The-Haters set to the Sailor Moon intro. It's magical.
One of his videos went viral not too long ago and his following jumped massively. It may seem silly but the videos really seem to strike a chord with people. Each video has thousands of likes and comments! Donte has found himself with over 140 thousand people looking to him for his motivational moves. You can join them on his profile here.
