Hint: It's not Friends.
It's just not. Stop telling people anything about Friends was revolutionary. The shows creators admitted that it was literally a stolen and white-washed Living Single - a show which, incidentally, had a slammin' theme song.
Reddit user RasheenHyuga asked:
"What tv show has the best theme song of all time?"
Obviously the comments were full of people passionately defending their choices for the best theme.
My initial response was the theme from Steven Universe, particularly the way that it evolved over the seasons to reflect the evolution of the storyline.
The simple little love song reflects something altogether massive by the time it's done; just like a simple cartoon about a little boy who thinks ice cream makes him magic evolves into a story about war, colonization, identity, family dynamics, transitions, what it means to be human and the value of forgiveness - AND boundaries.
Also, guitar solos and fry bits.
Having said aaaaaall of that - Reddit had some incredible answers, too.

"You just mention the show at all and people start rapping the theme song at you 9 times out of 10."
"It's quite cool how many people know the theme song, even if they've never watched the show or were born after it was finished. You know it's good when that happens!"
- thegurrkha
"I've probably only seen less than a full season and just had it on for background noise and I can still recite the opening rap!"

Yeah, that Unsolved Mysteries answer gave me flashbacks to my childhood and the feeling of fear in my throat as soon as the dododododododoot dododododoDOODOOT got started.
There was something about the pitch of the sound that always made me imagine the notes were stabbing me.
... ... ... I was a weird kid, but if you're a music-head I guarantee you knew exactly what I was talking about right there.
Don't judge me.

There Is An Entire Instagram Dedicated To Fran Drescher's Outfits On 'The Nanny' And It's So Important
From 1993 to 1999, students of fashion the world over had a weekly homework assignment: watch The Nanny with Fran Drescher. The network comedy followed the adventures of Fran Fine (Drescher) as she navigates the upper-class world of her love interest (Mr. Sheffield) while caring for his three children. All the while, the show's fashion designers were working overtime to make sure she was wearing amazing outfits every. Single. Week. In our modern age of binge-watching and nostalgia, it was only a matter of time before someone began giving Fran's fashion the attention it deserves.
The account, titled whatfranwore, is run by Shanae Brown, a dedicated Fran fan who makes an effort to ID as many of Drescher's outfits as she can. It turns out many of the nanny's most "eccentric" looks are actually examples of the era's high fashion!
Brown spoke with People Magazineabout what made her start the Instagram account:
Almost two years ago I decided to binge watch The Nanny because growing up I had only seen the show in passing and I realized I've never seen all the episodes. While watching I started noticing how amazing her outfits were and that was never something that held my attention as a child.
When she first began watching The Nanny, Brown was surprised to find how few resources there were on the internet focused on Drescher's outfits. She decided to correct the issue:
There were a few blogs and articles that spoke about Fran's outfits, and a few posted about some pretty iconic Moschino pieces that she wore, but that was as far as it went. I realized no one else had tracked down her other outfits and I figured I should at least try.
The account has actually gotten some attention from people involved with the show:
Brenda Cooper who was the costume designer on the show has reached out to me, and Peter Marc Jacobson the co-creator of the show follows the account and occasionally leaves comments.
People asked Brown what she had learned from her 400+ posts about Fran's fashion style. Her answer was beautifully insightful:
I've learned that mixing high end pieces with low end pieces never ever goes out of style.
I would define Fran's style as trendy. Fran was rocking every fashion trend of the '90s and she slayed the game.
Her style is definitely misunderstood. She rocked so many bold/crazy prints that shouldn't work, but they do.
WhatFranWore has over 266k followers who are all absolutely gaga for Drescher's outfits!
