In case you don't know by now, Halsey is a renaissance artist.

She stunned Saturday Night Live audiences as both host and musical guest, an impressive feat very few have achieved. Donald Glover did it last spring and Paul Simon pulled duty back in 1975.

Not only is Halsey — whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane — a renowned singer and songwriter, but the 24-year-old wields a paintbrush as deftly as the microphone.

Studio audiences witnessed the multitasker working her magic as she sang "Eastside" for her second set of the night.

After seven weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, Ariana Grande's "Thank U, Next," a follow-up to her hit album Sweetener, has finally fallen to number two while Halsey's "Without Me" has risen to the #1 spot.

Grande's reaction to Halsey usurping her throne was anything but competitive, however.

If you come at the Queen, you best not miss. Halsey, the singer behind "Closer" and "Bad at Love," got called out on Twitter for resembling the stereotypical image of a "manic pixie dream girl," a term used in film circles to describe a female love interest who "exists solely in the fevered imaginations of sensitive writer-directors to teach broodingly soulful young men to embrace life and its infinite mysteries and adventures." Some examples of the MPDG include Natalie Portman's character in Garden State, and Kirsten Dunst's character in Elizabethtown.

What the Twitter jokester probably didn't expect, however, was for Halsey herself to shoot him a reply!
