Whether it's a favorite food or a favorite brand, we all have brands and styles that we prefer above others.
And while it may not be the worst thing to ever happen to us, it can be a real bummer when a favorite item is discontinued.
Redditor Seraphicly329 asked:
"What was discontinued, but you miss like h**l and you wish would come back?"

From snacks to TV shows to favorite places to visit, these responses brought back some wonderful memories, especially for those who grew up in the '80s and '90s.
Like anything else, it's so easy to take advantage of something while we have it, only to miss it terribly when it's gone.
Remember when McDonald's sold pizza... or rather "McPizza"?
If you don't, it's fairly understandable, as it was generally reviled, and today there is exactly one McDonald's in the USA which continues to serve it.
As a result, not many people go to McDonald's wishing the McPizza would make a comeback.
But there are other items once seen on the McDonald's menu which people do wish might return to their menu, such as the McRibb sandwich, or the adult oriented Arch Deluxe.
Indeed, almost every fast food restaurant in the country must have at least one item which has since disappeared from their menu which at least one loyal customer is campaigning for a return.

Hungry Taco Bell GIFGiphyWe generally don't go out for fast food to expand our palettes and try new things, but rather to get a reliable and comforting favorite.
Which makes the disappointment of discovering that old favorite is off their menu all the more bitterly disappointing.
Though, one can only assume that anyone who actually misses the McPizza might not actually understand what pizza is supposed to taste like...
People Confess Which Discontinued Items They Want To See Make A Comeback
Ice cream lovers of the 90s fondly remember Viennetta, an ice cream cake made of ripples of vanilla ice cream and compound chocolate which made one feel like they were eating something they'd be served in a high-end patisserie, and not found in your supermarket's frozen aisle.
While Breyer's discontinued Viennetta in the late 1990s, Good Humor delighted fans when they began to redistribute it in January of 2021.
If Viennetta could find its way back into the frozen aisle, one can't help but think about other long-discontinued things we would love to see back in action.
Be it a flavor of ice cream, potato chip or soft drink, a former TV show, a festival or parade, or even modes of transportation, who doesn't occasionally find themselves falling down a nostalgic rabbit hole and wonder "if only..."

People Break Down Which Discontinued Foods From Their Childhood They'd Like To See Come Back
When I was little, my favorite thing in the world were Gems. They were a kind of hard shell candy with chocolate inside. A pre-curser to M&Ms, they're probably what gave way to my M&M obsession in the first place.
I only ever had access to Gems in India, so I was excited when my family went there on vacation. Wanting to have my favorite candy again, that was what I looked for the first time we went grocery shopping. To my dismay, I found out Gems were no longer being made.
While this incident with Gems took lace a couple of decades ago, this is a modern age thing as well. Just a few years ago, Hersey's bought Cadbury and the classic Cadbury chocolate my friends and I grew up with became a thing of the past.
There are lots of food from our childhood that were either discontinued or rebranded with a new recipe. These foods were an integral part of our childhood, and many of us would like to see out old favorites make a comeback.
Curious about what these old favorites actually were, Redditor knumbersix asked:
"If you could have any rare, no longer available food from your childhood, what would it be?"

Newer Is Not Always Better

Books Never Tasted So Good
"Pizza Hut personal pan pizza. And for anyone that says that they still make them: They aren't the same ones or the same recipe as the ones from the 90s. Pizza Hut back then used higher quality ingredients and was the absolute best chain pizza you could get! I always did the best in my class every year in elementary school with Book-It. Yes, I did love books, but a free personal pan pizza was always a huge incentive too! I still get cravings for those and there's nothing I can do!"
– youreyesmystars
"Book-it had my chubby a*s securing pan pizzas left and right. Books never tasted so good. My parents loved it too, gave em an excuse to go to the Hut."
"Edit: The Button and gold stickers had me pretty jazzed too."
– GroundbreakingPipe91
I remember the Book-It challenge and those pizzas too! I never needed any encouragement to read, but it was nice to get rewarded with my favorite food just for engaging in my favorite activity.
Those pizzas are just another food from my childhood I'll always miss.
We may never get out favorite childhood foods back, but at least we can revel in the good memories they hold!
Literally every natural/curly hair enthusiast who read that headline just took a deep cleansing breath and needed to re-find their inner peace after having a montage of all the discontinued hair products they have loved and lost.

You helped me AND a ton of African lions rock our manes a little more fabulously.
Most people never even knew that line of hair products for natural hair existed - but those of us who did were crushed and had flatter hair about it for a long time.
