Idaho Teen Makes More Money In Just 4 Days Plowing Snow In Seattle Than A Lot Of People Make In A Whole Year
Climate change has led to one of the craziest winters we've had in years.
Currently on the East Coast, we're experiencing a constant ballooning of temperatures. One day it feels like spring, the next day a state of emergency is declared because of snowstorms.
The West Coast is also experiencing quite the side effects of global warming.
Seattle just had its snowiest February in 70 years. While the snow caused inconvenience for many, one young man benefited greatly from the unusual weather.
An 18-year-old Idahoan by the name of David Holston found himself in the Emerald City when he was visiting his mother who was recovering from surgery.
The impending snow storm was right around the corner when David's friend, Steve, gave him the idea to bring his plow truck to Seattle. Holston works as a landscaper and plowing snow back home in Idaho.
The drive from Holston's home town of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho to Seattle, Washington is somewhere around 5 hours give or take.
However, the long drive became worth it when Holston posted an ad on Craigslist for potential snow plowing and received a $1,000 offer:
"I hit the road with jobs lined up until midnight. All during that time, I was answering my phone and adding new customers to my snow route for Monday."
Holston continued to get hired for his plowing capabilities. Within four days, he plowed 15 different places. His rate ranged between $500 and $750 an hour.
Within the 4-day span he brought in a whopping $35,000—more than some people make in an entire year!
Unsurprisingly, his incredible profits earned him the spotlight from numerous news sources.
