People Share Which Movie Endings Still Frustrate Them To No End

Like, I paid a lot for this movie ticket. Come on.

Isn't it just the worst when you're engrossed in a movie, only to have it ruined by the ending? It takes so much work to put yourself in the world of the film and having it snatched away like that is pretty crazy. It's something we'd like to have warning of so we can avoid it.

u/deadkingsoul asked for warning from Reddit:

What movie ending actually made you say "what the f*?"

Here were just some of the most egregious offenders.

Non-Event Horizon

[rebelmouse-image 18357678 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

Event Horizon! I remember seeing Laurence Fishburn doing a promo for the film and he said "we like to leave the viewer to make up their own mind at the end." I think that was code for we don't have an ending. He was right.

So Confused

[rebelmouse-image 18357680 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

Akira. Then again, the whole of Akira made me go "What the f*?", so that's hardly fair.

Which One Was The Ninth One?

[rebelmouse-image 18357682 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

The Ninth Gate, someone in the theater actually yelled "Oh, come on!"

They Went Together Like "Rama Lama Lama Ka Ding A De-WTF"

[rebelmouse-image 18357683 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

Grease. Nobody seems to remember that they flew away in a car.

I'm Gone, Girl

[rebelmouse-image 18357684 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

Gone Girl. The beginning of the movie quote " When I think of my wife, I always think of the back of her head. I picture cracking her lovely skull, unspooling her brain, trying to get answers" I was like this guy is a sick f*... but by the end I was pretty much shouting at the tv for him to unspool

Ala-Kazan

[rebelmouse-image 18357685 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

The ending of Cube. I just stared at my screen for like two minutes after the credits were done. Then I yelled, "KAZAN?! REALLY?!"

Watch Me Disappear From This Theater

[rebelmouse-image 18357686 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

The Prestige. By the end of it I didn't even care which of them came out on top. Both were so messed up.

Mapquest To This Address

[rebelmouse-image 18357687 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

10 Cloverfield Lane. I really did not see that coming.

I've seen [Cloverfield], but I got the impression the original Cloverfield monster wasn't sentient. I figured the guy heard about the monster and went into the bunker thinking it was a nuclear attack. I was not expecting sentient, intelligent aliens in spacecraft from a Cloverfield movie.

Don't Take My Youth

[rebelmouse-image 18357688 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

Old boy. That movie messed me up.

Tis Merely A Flesh Wound

[rebelmouse-image 18357689 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

As a kid, the ending of Monty Python and the Holy Grail legit made me cry because I wanted to see the big battle.

Whitey Would Be Proud

[rebelmouse-image 18357690 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

The Departed.

Hal-itosis

[rebelmouse-image 18357691 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

The first time watching 2001: A space odyssey

This. Movie.

[rebelmouse-image 18357692 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

My Girl

"He can't see without his glasses!"

See-Saw

[rebelmouse-image 18357694 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

Saw. Say what you will about the series as a whole, but the first one is a very solid horror movie. It's the first time I was so shocked by an ending that I didn't really have much to say. I just sat there kind of speechless.

I almost wish I could forget that movie just so I could watch it again for the first time.

Ohhhhh

[rebelmouse-image 18352802 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

When I first saw Fellowship of the Ring, I hadn't read the books or heard any spoilers about it at all. I was like, "What the? They didn't even destroy the ring!"

Buddy just turns to me and says, "There's two more movies coming."

First Rule

[rebelmouse-image 18357695 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

Fight Club.

What's In The Box

[rebelmouse-image 18357696 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

Se7en.

That movie just left me feeling totally hollow.

Surprise Vampires

[rebelmouse-image 18357697 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

From Dusk til Dawn.

At the time I had never heard of the movie, or had any inkling of what it was about. I downloaded it, so no movie cover. Just 0 f-cking idea what I was getting myself into.

Felt like a really really interesting, funny, but twisted story about two fugitives running from the law and trying to make it to the Mexico border. And I was just so invested in what was going to happen.

Then f-cking VAMPIRES?!

I actually paused the movie and checked to see if this was what the movie was actually about to make sure it didn't have a totally random film spliced in there somehow. It was just bizarre and threw me COMPLETELY for a loop. Without the context or prior knowledge you just would never know some deeply f up supernatural s* was about to go down in A bar.

But there I was.

Unusual Suspects

[rebelmouse-image 18357698 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

The Usual Suspects.

It's like THE twist ending movie, but it's done so good since they give you such a big hint a minute before the reveal so you can figure it out just as it all begins to unfold as your brain tries to process it.

Clementine

[rebelmouse-image 18357699 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It just fills you with this sense of both utter devastation and hopefulness in a way that messed me up for days. It is so, so much more complex than just bittersweet.

As Forrest Gump famously quipped "stupid is as stupid does".

Forrest was right, as far too many people judged him by purely looking at him, which should not have been indicative of his, or anyone's, overall intelligence.

Even so, we've likely all been guilty of judging someone's intelligence based on a first impression.

Likely owing to something outrageous they said or did.

It's hard to ignore gossip and rumors at work, whether at the water cooler, in the bathroom, or in an email sent to the wrong recipient.

Of course, sometimes gossip is nothing more than just that, with no truth or validity to it whatsoever.

Other times, however, it turns out to be accurate, and what's more, should it become public knowledge, it could become truly damaging to the company's reputation and business.

Hence why many companies make all their employees sign an NDA, often preventing them from sharing information about whether they continue to work at the company or not.

Not all companies are as careful, however, resulting in some employees leaving with the knowledge that could one day force the company to go under.

Money matters.

Don't let people fool you when they say it doesn't.

Yes, it isn't everything.

And yes it can corrupt.

But it can also be immensely helpful.

It's especially helpful in large sums.

A windfall of cash in any amount can be life-changing.
