To be fair to some of the entries on this list, perhaps they read them in a book? Yeah, that's got to be it. How many of us can honestly say we pronounced 'chameloen' correctly in our minds the first time we read it?

No one? Right. Sometimes pronunciations slip away from us, however the following entries go maybe just a bit too far.

My Drawing 2 professor would call himself a drawrer and a drawing drawring. He would correct you if you said it differently and he even gave us a really pointless story on why he says it that way that basically told us he didnt know what accents were. I hated that dude

My wife has said and typed "pose to" instead of "supposed to." I love her but goddamn it.

It really grinds my gears when people spell it as "suppose to" instead of "supposed to." Aren't English teachers supposed to tell you it has a D at the end?

Who doesn't enjoy a compliment every now and then?

But have you ever thought you were complimented only to realize you've just been insulted?

For some people those backhanded compliments are unintentional, for some they're very much deliberate and for some people it's actually their love language.

Whatever the purpose, some of these veiled insults are downright clever.
