We all can admit that some subject matter makes for much better comment boards than others. Here are some comment threads that are of the legendary status.

myawesomeself asks:

Reddit, what is a legendary comment thread that everyone should read?

Wonder what their input was

In this thread a guy mistakenly asks the fantasy football board for relationship advice.

"Make the drop. Next gf will be better ROS."

It seems like that is pretty much established, no questions asked

That one where a whole fitness community started fighting over how many days in a week there are. It wasn't on reddit, and it's about 8ish years old i think?

"If I go every other day I will be at the gym 4-5 times a week, is that over training?

I typically work out for 60-90 minutes, I push my self and raise the weight each week."

Not what he meant

Clubbers of Reddit, what are you tips for People new to clubbing?

Obvious he meant dance clubs but people have him advice on seal clubbing. Some advice actually works for both scenarios, one of the funniest threads I've read.

"Theres nothing to it really, just a few pointers.

  1. Have fun, everything comes down to this. If ur having fun, nothing else really matters.
  2. Go in a group. Its more fun. Other people will see you having fun, and will be more willing to talk to you. You will also have some stories to share.
  3. Dress accordingly. You are going to get sweaty. Sometimes there is spilage. You dont want to ruin your best shirt.
  4. The size of the club doesnt matter. You might be able to get more variety with a bigger club, but smaller clubs are more personal and can be just as much fun.
  5. Dont just watch. Get involved. Talk to people, dance. Theres nithing worse than being the guy who just stands around when everyone else is having fun.
  6. Dance. This deserves repeating. Many guys go out hunting. But if you have fun, and dance, they will come to you.
  7. If given the chance, take it. Dont hope and wait for something better. Enjoy yourself. Lift up your arms, and pound that seal with your club."

Very useful

I loved the one where an American was going to Ireland and wanted to know if it was a good idea to give Snickers bars as gifts to the locals. The responses were a hoot.

"American here. This thread just convinced me to visit Ireland the next time I go to Europe. Will bring Snickers, potatoes and freedom to disperse amongst the locals"

A stress log sounds like a great idea

[rebelmouse-image 18345773 is_animated_gif= dam=1 expand=1]

This one blew up massive a few years ago, but didn't quite get the same longevity that many other of these big posts get. I remember it as the user is a reddit friend of mine, and I was really happy to see her get such a positive response.

College professor has class keep stress log and changed her entire teaching/grading approach from it

"Thank you sooooo much. I work 28 days a month and most of my shifts are 10 hours at least, some are 14. I am 8 classes away from graduation and the writing requirements on me right now are ridiculous. I can't write 30 pages in one week. I can barely take my dog out to poop when he needs to go. Thanks for being an understanding human being. I'm close to dropping out and I'm 145 credits into my 157 credit degree. I'm right f** there and I JUST CAN'T DO IT ANYMORE! I CAN'T I'M DONE! I've been crying for three days now and I don't know why, I just cant deal with the stress anymore I guess."

Now that's entertainment

The one by the mormon guy talking about his mission in Mexico Brazil, where he and his partner walked into a bad area and made the mistake of going down a road where gang members started to follow them, and also approached them from the front, boxing them in. As they got close he noticed some of them had Wu Tang symbols and such, so when they walked up to him, the first thing he said was "you guys like Wu Tang?" What followed was a high stakes Wu Tang trivia challenge, and being a big fan he knew everything. So instead of getting robbed and killed, the mormons were made honorary members of the gang.

"If you're going to visit Brazil, get up to speed on your Wu-Tang just in case."

Hilarious!

Teacher standing in front of a classroom
Photo by Taylor Flowe on Unsplash

It's a teacher's job to leave a lasting impression and set a good example for their students.

With this in mind, particularly in this age of viral videos and social media, teachers have to be very careful of what they say during class hours.

Even so, there are very few teachers who haven't said something they've regretted when teaching a class.

Sometimes to control unruly students, other times when they've simply had enough.

Then too, sometimes teachers leave their students baffled and perplexed by what they say in their classroom, well aware of what they were saying.

Always making for a memorable story.

As a kid, I never raised alarm bells even when I started to feel sick. My mom got stressed easily and was busy taking care of my younger brother, so I never wanted to be a burden by making her take me to the doctor only to find out nothing was wrong.

However, in fifth grade, my ears started to hurt and I knew something was wrong. I told my mom, she took me to the doctor, and I found out I had an ear infection.

Now, an ear infection isn't serious at all, and it was easily treatable. Still, I learned something from that experience: no one knows your body better than you. You know if and when you're sick and how serious it is, even if you don't now exactly what is wrong.

Redditors can corroborate this. Many of them have experienced symptoms that told them they were sick in some way -- usually with a very serious illness -- and are ready to share those experiences.

A couple holds hands on a date, candlelit table and two glasses of red wine

When in the beginning stages of dating, it's important to know as much as humanly possible.

The element of surprise is no longer a fun aspect of romance.

Ask the small questions. Ask the hard questions.

Interrogate. Grill. Investigate.

Of course, you should do it with a subtle hand instead of an interrogation lamp.

The truth is all we have.

Ask everything.

Woman letting go of boyfriend's hand

As much as we always hop for our dating efforts to be worth it and for every relationship to work out, we all know that some relationships are not destined to work out.

But sometimes relationships end for totally valid reasons, and sometimes the reasons are painful, if not devastating.
