With everything happening in politics... nobody being able to get a wedding cake or Press Secretaries unable to eat lunch in peace, it's probably good to know that civilians have been banned from many establishments over the course of centuries. You never know what will set off the people in a position of power. A quick side eye, or a snarky tone can lead you to a life of pawing at a window in the rain, wishing you could join the cool kids inside.

FACEBOOK IS RUTHLESS!

I got banned from a Facebook page for foodies in my area. The admin was a self-important busybody who regularly abused his power by removing posts he didn't think were bougie enough for his audience. He got criticized for it a lot, and made a habit of telling people "If you don't like the way I run this page, go start your own." So I did. His group was called "[town name] Foodies!!,"so I called mine "[town name] Foodies,"leaving out the exclamation points. People started joining my group thinking it was his. I got a DM from him blasting me for "stealing" his group's name and advising me that it was trademarked and that any commercial use was prohibited. Then he banned me. I have never seen so little power go to someone's head before.

I'm banned from PayPal cause I sold my WoW account for $600. Once I got the money I immediately cashed it out of my PayPal. Except it ended up that the buyer was some lady that got her PayPal account hacked. PayPal tried to get the money back from me. I said I spent it and don't have the money. They thought I was part of a hack scandal. But I was just some kid who thought he sold his WoW account. They sent creditors after me but I never gave the money back, insisting that it was PayPal's fault that their system got hacked. They said I was selling something illegal. Would I get my WoW account back if I paid the money back? No. End result is that I'm no longer allowed on PayPal.

Was returning a stack of 50 CD-r at Best Buy when I was a kid. The lady does the return and for some reason took a few steps away from the register. She told me to toss her the CDs for her to put in the return bin, so I underhanded them to her. Was maybe 10 feet. She caught them and then did a little mock cheer.

Go about my business in the store and about ten minutes later was approached by a manager telling me I need to leave. I was being banned for "throwing" a stack of CDs at one of his cashiers. Wasn't worth arguing, so I left.

I got banned from a Minecraft server because of teleporting. The server mentioned had a teleport system that you could input as "/teleport [location name]." There was also a _"/Telepor_ts" command that gave you a list of eligible locations. One of them sent me to a plot with creative active but I guess the location was supposed to be outside access so upon teleporting in it crashed the server. Anytime forward if I joined the server it would crash, eventually leading to my ban.

I was banned from a chat room back in the day because I chose an avatar of a cat and kept putting it above this other guy's avatar and telling him that he had a cat on his head.

Banned from Xbox live back in the day until the year 9999.

It was because I was "exchanging Xbox live services for real life money."

I had "Sniping lessons £500 an hour." In my profile as a bit of satire. No warning. No appeal accepted. Just boom. Banned for eternity.

I was banned from the Bad Dragon forums by having the misfortune of replying to a Dutch poster on a mostly American board while also being Dutch. My account was perma-banned for ban evasion (note I only had one account on that forum).Ie. the mod that banned me thought I was the same person as the one he banned because I responded to a post by the banned poster and was also Dutch. Utter nonsense, obviously.

Still use their shop, but I miss those forums, surprisingly good discussions on there, given the primary subject matter.

I was banned from the public library across my house due to the fact that I was reserving a computer the whole day just to play RuneScape. They only let you reserve computers for an hour, but I found a little trick to bypass it with the help of alt+esc and alt+f4. I'm guessing they got tired of me after the third year of doing it.
