School always felt like one of those things that would never end while you're in it. "Seriously, how long can the last four minutes of school take? Is the clock ticking backwards? What is time?" Typically, you'll feel all these emotions when trapped in a classroom, but then adulthood happens. With the power of nostalgia, everything about it was great.

Reddit user, u/fluffyypickel, wanted to hear about the most memorable moments when they asked:

What do you miss about school?

Long Days That Went On Forever

Summer break

You really take it for granted. Then one day, you're an adult.

Ah...Intelligence...

Being in an intellectually stimulating environment. I work in a warehouse full time and it's fine but the quality of conversation/interaction is very lacking.

Variety. Again And Again.

The variety of things you do every day like math, english, music, gym, auto shop, etc. In college it's even more specified of course.

In the real world, most days you are doing one thing over and over again which will eventually get old no matter how much you love your profession.

Being Allowed To Get Nothing Done

The little responsibility we had.

IFacadeI

That's the huge one for me. It was a carefree time with no responsibilities and no significant penalties for failing at the stuff you were supposed to do. As much as I love my family, pets, job, coworkers, all the responsibility that comes with being an adult can at times be overwhelming in comparison to those carefree days.

Oddly enough there's also the realization of how much you depend on other people, how much their responsibilities impact you. As teens, we felt like we were independent, and it was a nice feeling even if it was far from true. As you get older you realize you can't do much more than sh-t without other people and someday you'll even be old enough to need help with that.

Being An Adult Is Rough

Having a social life was so much easier when you saw your friends for like a third of the day every day. It's so much harder making friends as an adult because it's harder meeting people

Nowadays dating or meeting new friends is so hard if you are in your 30's and older. Most of mine have moved away or started families. My small town has zero places to hang out after work except internet cafes. Sad.

Who Misses One Class A Day?

I don't miss much, but the flexibility of scheduling in college is definitely something I miss. Knowing I only have one class on certain days a week meant I could sleep in on a random Tuesday, where I can't do that now.

The only other thing I really miss is how easy it was to meet new people and make plans with friends. Now that we've all graduated and some have moved to new cities, it makes it much harder to get together.

Oh Yeah. Everything But School...

Everything except school work

Same. I loved most things about school except for the things that were actually school

Learn To Change The Toner, Karen!

Having friends constantly around me. Now I'm in an office full of people who don't know how to communicate, clean or change a damn toner.

Inspiration Beyond Thanks

I reflect fondly on the teachers that inspired me to become a teacher/professor.

Heartfelt thanks to all of them.

That's nice. Have you ever reached out and told them that?

fluffyypickel

Not only have I told them, but I've taken them out for lunch and have stayed in touch to let them know that their legacy lives on.

Thank you for your thoughtful question, OP.

Some people will just believe anything.

And if you call a statement a fact long enough, many people take it as gospel.

Some facts are absolute truths, others can be malleable.

Science changes.

History evolves.

Lies are exposed.

And research is an actual art form.

Movies can mold who we are.

Some stories caught on film leave an impression that we take with us through our dying breaths.

That's why the arts and artists are so vital.

But there are some movies and specifically movie moments that can be to much to rewatch.

We may love the movie, but a certain scene may always be on the fast forward list.

Sometimes it's all too real.

Every person, and every relationship, is unique, and that includes what makes each partner deeply and truly happy, or annoyed.

Since all of us have our little quirks, it makes sense that our partners would enjoy some of them but not others.

But it's hard to tell how each behavior will be received.

The amount of shows that have aired in the history of television is a lengthy one, and the ones we know of are the ones that have been picked up by the networks.

There are tons of other ideas that have been pitched that have not seen the light of day and some that have been produced and presented as pilot episodes but eventually scrapped due to a variety of reasons.
