When we're in high school it feels like the whole world is at our disposal. We may have dreams of what we think we want to be and we make plans because we're pretty sure how life is going to turn out but boy does life have ideas for us. Just because someone was the smartest or the prettiest or the richest doesn't mean they're going to stay that way. Just re-watch "Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion," there is a lesson life's outcomes. The paths for all of us are still unwritten and the destinations can be shocking.

The son of my teacher was a football player, had a beautiful GF (they broke up before he graduated though), and was a procrastinator. Once he graduated, he went to work at a restaurant for a year and as far as I knew, he was going to attend college the next year but he had no idea of what his major was gonna be. I just found out two weeks ago he got accepted to a local seminary and is going to become a priest! I was shocked to say the least. D_Shwimm

I met him in the tenth grade as I smoked and he happened to sell it. He lived in a trailer park and financed it with his sales. My parents hated him. After he graduated from high school while living 100 percent on his own, he did two years of collage before getting accepted in a major medical university program that actually paid him to be there. Not really a friend as I didn't run with their crowd, but like at every school there was the really popular girl. Pretty, cheerleader, everybody liked her, wealthy parents, etc... I'm sure you knew someone like that yourself.

There's something seeing a person litter that drives me up the wall. I remember being a kid and being explicitly told to hold on to my trash and not just throw it in the street. As a kid, I distinctly remember being made fun of for not just throwing the bag of chips I'd just eaten or an empty soda bottle into the gutter.

I love movies. The cinema has long been a savior of mine and has given me some of my greatest inspirations. But being an avid film watcher has also made me quite the critic. I can always tell when a movie is worth the money to see in theaters or wait until it's on basic cable with commercials.
