Try as I might, I just can't get into the overwhelming majority of video games. Sorry, guys. I'm just not a big gamer. I wish I had the time, but I don't. Is Fortnite still a thing? Yeah, I still don't really know what it is and I don't want any part in it.

Too much is already on my plate and there are other things I would much rather be doing. But if you like it? Rock on.

Turns out I'm not the only one who would rather do anything else, as I was so kindly reminded after Redditor igobrimode asked the online community,

"What is something crazy popular that you have no interest in?"

"The trending page..."

"The trending page of Youtube. I literally only check my home page and subscriptions."

You're smart. Why delve deeper? You'll just regret it. The amount of awful crap on YouTube is astronomical.

"I always thought..."

"I always thought "influencer" was a bit of a joke, until I worked with grown adults who actually followed them, got inspired/informed/jealous of them, etc. Turns out they do genuinely influence people."

"From currently being..."

"From currently being in Las Vegas, I can confidently say Las Vegas.

Too many people totally unaware of their surroundings. You get a second-hand high just from walking down the street, and you can't spend more than 3 minutes in any casino without your eyes burning from the cloud of second-hand cigarette smoke. Also, I have never seen so much space dedicated to shopping malls, yet somehow there is literally nothing worth even stopping to look at in any of them unless you want to drop a couple of grand on an overpriced wallet."

It seems like everyone I know has been to Vegas at least once and I can't stomach the idea of bothering to go.

"Two of my friends..."

"I am OVER tall cakes. This needs to stop! Two of my friends had cakes this year that were taller than they were wide, and each piece from the cake would collapse as it was cut. Instagram is ruining cake."

This reminds me of burgers that are too tall and fall apart when you attempt to eat them. It's never very fun. (But doesn't stop me from eating them; I just love food, sorry.)

"I want to know..."

"Talking about work to people. Everyone is like "how is work going?" and I would rather talk about anything but work. I want to know what people are interested in and what they did or thought about when they were not working."

"I still haven't gotten it."

"Snapchat. I still haven't gotten it. What's wrong with texting?"

Right? Another app I have no time or use for. And yet the creator is a billionaire, so joke's on me, I guess.

"I'm now surrounded..."

"Expensive hobbies. I'm now surrounded by friends and colleagues who sail, go on golf and ski trips, own boats, fly planes, but I grew up without being to afford much so all my hobbies are "free" things. Hiking and walking are some of my favorite activities. I've thought about picking up some new hobbies but it's hard for me to splurge because I'd rather save and do things that I enjoy and don't cost as much money."

"Have very little interest..."

"Watching video game streamers. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge gamer, and I'll watch YouTube clips for tips, guides, reviews, etc. Have very little interest in watching somebody else play the game though. I'd rather experience it myself. Idk, maybe it's because I'm in my early 30s and I'm just a grumpy old man (in the gaming world). Ps- Stay off my damn lawn."

"I have nothing against..."

"Weed. I have nothing against people who smoke it. I know it's not the "terrible, life-destroying" drug my parents made it out to be. But, I just can't get over the smell. It's awful."

That smell can be a lot for some people, so I get it.

"Watching people..."

"Watching people play video games on Twitch. Exactly why is that a thing?"

I guess I just have to face it: I'm either an old, grumpy fart or... just not the target audience for this stuff. Maybe both? Yeah, probably both. I'm okay with that.

Being woken up suddenly is not very good for our health.

Especially for the elderly, it's not something to make a habit of. Sleep interruption can increase blood pressure, cause a worsened self image, and cause a day filled with irritation and confusion.

No one wants to be woken up, but there are definitely some reasons for being woken up that are worse than your alarm clock.

We went to Ask Reddit to find out some of the worst reasons people have been woken up.

People have a habit of excusing crap behavior - honestly because it's often easier in the short term. Long term = flaming dumpster fire.

We live in a time where we are critically re-examining how we pay workers. After a two-year-long pandemic where some low-income and "unskilled" jobs were deemed "essential," we now must put our money where our mouth is.

For too long in the world have incredibly important jobs been overlooked or else outright maligned. Teachers in the USA make some of the least money, career-wise, and have some of the hardest jobs. Dancers pay to put their bodies through hell with no guarantee of paid work after training.

What causes a small town to die?

Honestly, there can be quite a few factors, but perhaps the biggest one is that small towns often lack the upward mobility opportunities that are more available in urban areas.

As a result, many towns around the United States for instance have lost tens of millions of people as their populations seek jobs and opportunities elsewhere.

And what remains of these places can be pretty sketchy.

People told us more after Redditor RadicalizedSnackWrap asked the online community,

"What's a super sketchy US city that we never hear about?"
