People Divulge Which Feelings Are Even Better Than An Orgasm

An orgasm is pretty much meant to be the pinnacle of human pleasure. As it is part of a reproductive process, it's a naturally desirable thing to want to have an orgasm in order to reproduce and to continue the species. It's meant to be one of the forces of really strong pleasure and drive in the human race.

But... it's not everything. Sometimes there are feelings that are even better. It means that humans have evolved into a better version of themselves where reproduction isn't always the be-all end-all goal.

Redditor u/_the_big_short_ asked:

"What's a happier feeling than an orgasm?"

Here were some of those answers.

Cancelled Plans

"When you're dreading something that you have to do out of obligation, and then it gets canceled at the last minute"-Hrekires

"My two sons were all dressed and ready for school last Saturday, waiting for me to get up to take them. Boy were they happy."-GameCollaboration

Snow Dayz

"I have insanely vivid memories of this growing up in Chicago. My vent was on the floor at the base of my window looking onto our street."

"On those mornings I'd crack the window open a little to let the brisk air in, cover the vent with my blanket and lay on the floor watching snow fall as the warm air from the heater blew under the covers. Heaven."-RokuSnakeBorgov

The Floof Of The Feathers

"Waking up naturally in a really cozy bed. I swear that's the best feeling. One of the best choices I ever made was buying a memory foam mattress, one with the perfect balance of firmness and plush (mine is a tad bit more on the firm side which I like)."

"So waking up naturally on days off, in my own apartment (as opposed to when I had roommates who would wake me up every day, either intentionally by knocking or incidentally with their noise), is honestly the greatest thing in the world."-itsniceinpottsfield

It really us about the moments and the more simple things in life rather than all of the noise.

A Relief Pee

"My most memorable relief pee was as a teenager in Hawaii. I foolishly skipped an opportunity to piss in the morning and then we spent hours huddles together in a cold windy tender boat, heading to a reef to snorkel with no realistic chance to relieve myself."

"I finally hopped in at the reef, swam away from the boat and other snorkelers (courteously down-current of them) and absolutely unleashed the jet stream."

"It just kept going, and going, and going. Waves of relief just radiating through me. Perhaps my sense of time was warped by this transcendental high, but it felt like it lasted several minutes."

"Afterwards I looked up and the stream of bubbly foam stretched into the distance. I hope that urine's blissful happiness symbolically drifted across the Pacific and into the souls of every living being."-__Guy_Incognito

Little Rescue Babies

"This will likely never get seen, but, my in-laws have a history of taking in rescue animals, especially ones that had been abused. It's one of the few things I love about them."

"Many years ago, they got a chihuahua mix that had been abused right before Thanksgiving. We were over there for the holiday and they were saying that she would likely not come out and if she did, she would hide from everyone."

"At some point in the day, she comes out and everyone else makes a big deal of it and talks to her in that stupid high-pitched baby talk that people do."

"I just sit there on the couch wishing I wasn't there when she comes over, lets me pet her, and then sits next to me on the couch. Everyone is floored at this. I'll never forget that dog until the day I die"-fatbastard79

A Head Like A Pillow

"Getting told you're someone's comfort person. God its wonderful. It was a girl that i wasn't very close to before this year, but we've been going to school together for years."

"I hadnt seen her for about a year and a half due to covid. We had homeroom together this year and her face lit up when she saw me."

"We talked for a while and out of the blue she was like 'You're my comfort person. You're just so sweet.' That was 3 weeks ago and i still cant stop thinking about it."-Weak_Dog_8215

Just Being In Your Arms

"Honestly? For me its having my SO hug me back and genuinely want to be in my arms. That doesn't really happen anymore. Id take that over sex any day."

"Edit: Thank you all for the awards and sharing your experiences. I had hoped you guys would get it and a lot of you do."

"And to answer two question Im still married and yes I am a man. My wife is still a good person and does love me, she's just not as affectionate as she used to be."-11923011

One single one of these feelings can really turn around your entire day.

Speaking Doggo Speak

"When your dog understands you. Even better, when you understand your dog."

"When I figured out what my dog wanted while he was sniffing around a chair. He was trying to catch a gecko so I helped him by tilting the chair. The happy noises he made, it made my heart sing!"-EvitaPuppy

Math!...?

"Doing a math problem that solves for some variable(s) and finally getting to the answer and being able to circle it on the paper. Then plugging it to check your work and getting getting it right"-Smooth-Ad2780

"You should look into programming if you haven't. On good days (in good jobs) where you get to write code all day, it's like this all day long."-The_Prequels_Denier

Oh Baby, It's Research

"I'm a scientist. Being the first person to know something. Not just the first to hear the news but the person to push out the boundaries of human knowledge into an uncharted frontier."

"After months or sometimes years of work, to look at your data and understand something that nobody in the entirety of human history has ever understood before...nothing comes close."

"Academia sucks as a career, but for that feeling, it's worth it."-BaronMichotte

It really seems like the small moments in life, as well as the ones that give your life purpose, that really overtake your senses and give you the feeling of pleasure no feeling can surmount.

It's worth all the trouble of being human for these teeny, tiny moments to come through.

People Describe The Exact Moment They Realized Their Friends Were A-Holes

Everyone has friends who you become less and less close to with each passing year.

This isn't always by choice, though, but simply by circumstance, when your lives both take different directions.

In some cases, however, we do find ourselves making a very conscious decision to stop spending time with certain friends.

Owing to the fact that these people might not be our friends after all.

In certain cases, the communication ends as the result of one specific moment.

People Break Down The Greatest TV Theme Songs Of All-Time
Photo by Will Francis on Unsplash

We all have songs that we can't get out of our heads, resulting in our randomly humming them while walking down the street.

Among the most infectious songs are theme songs to TV shows.

Be it from tuning in every week to catch up with Friends who will always" be there for [us]", or being "stuck in the middle" of a Grace And Frankie binge, we often find ourselves humming the theme songs of our favorite shows more often than we find ourselves quoting the best lines.

Even if it means humming an infectious melody to a wordless piece of music (Will & Grace or Seinfeld anyone?)

People Explain Which Bits Of Common Knowledge They Learned Way Too Late In Life

Who hasn't had a moment when they learned what they thought was a revelatory piece of information, ran to share it with their friends, and were then greeted by a barrage of stone faces?

Owing to the fact that what we only just learned a few minutes ago, was apparently common knowledge.

These include your favorite movie star was in fact the offspring of another movie star, what gelatin is actually made of, or little tricks and strategies which make certain experiences so much more pleasurable.

For no particular reason, some people learn these things far later than just about everyone else.

I'm a simple person when it comes to video games.

I prefer to go with nostalgia.

All of these fancy deals put me on sensory overload.

But my goodness the technology really has come a long way.

And there are actual storylines and drama.

Good for y'all gamers.
