Come on, who doesn't love their job?

It's fairly common to fall into the category of, "hates job but has to go anyway." Odds are your job is just that, a way to pay the bills and earn a living from month to month regardless of the pay involved. What good is money if you hate what you do every day?
However, there are those people who managed to find a job that doesn't feel so much like a job, instead an eccentric hobby.

Reddit user, u/HelloSun510, wanted to hear about:

Who here actually loves their job? If so, what do you do?

Getting Your Daily Steps In

Some people love the job for the physical activity it involves. Whether it's lifting something heavy, cutting something thick, or heading out for aquatic adventures, sometimes exercise is all it needs to become a lifetime pursuit.

Landscape construction:

Paid to get a workout

Get to be in nature always

Don't have to talk to too many people

Build beautiful stone structures

Solve drainage problems

Fondle plants!

It's a lot of first-world problem solving, but overall it is a really satisfying and rewarding job that pays quite well.

Sailing For Adventure On The Big, Blue, Wet Thing

I work on a ship and get to see the world. When vacation comes around I hand over the keys and phone to my replacement and go for 2 months without a worry in the world. I've seen places in the world that most people have never heard of.

Wait, Seriously?

I work customer service. Which, I know, bane of existence. Except I work in a fabric store, which I have been joking for 20 years was my dream job. Even now my coworkers joke whether I'm working for money or fabric. I love helping people realize their vision, and some customers even come back to show us pictures of what they made. I love it.

Helping People Who Help The Doggos

I'm only working there part time but I'm basically the janitor for this really awesome Dog groomers. I'll wash or help pick up a dog now and again when asked, but I mostly just clean up cages, tidy up outside, just make sure things stay clean on the days I'm there.

Now, obviously I don't love being on my knees and picking up poop from a nervous pupper, but what I'm pretty damn good at cleaning and seeing my coworkers appreciate my work is just the best!

On that note...I have the coolest coworkers and boss EVER! Their all so laid back and cool! It was my birthday recently and when I walked in these gals surprised birthdayed me TwT with my favourite cake and friggin balloons.

Their the best!

The Thinker's Game

Some jobs can feel like a game. You go in, a set of pieces is presented to you that needs to become a whole, then you spend the remainder of your project work time putting it all together.

When Your Job Is Just One Big Puzzle

I'm a Software Developer/Engineer and like my Job. I like the core loop of having a problem, breaking it down to its components, and solving these components. It's a very satisfying loop.

I...Create...LIFE!

I LOVE my job. I am an automation engineer.

Seeing something come to life infront of you and then seeing it produce the final product is the best feeling ever.

I feel like it would be really rewarding to often see the product/benefits of what you do!

Cool Bugs! And Flexibility!

I'm an HVAC technician and I love it!

I get to work with my hands and build things, It involves a bunch of problem solving, I get to see all kinds of cool bugs in crawlspaces, and I work with a great company that takes care of its employees and cares about us. Plus it's a free workout and flexibility training every day!

BLOCKED!

Network administration. Specifically network defense. Servers and network layout and troubleshooting. I just love computers and networks are basically just a giant computer. I can telework half the time and a lot of it is waiting for stuff to break.

Also it makes me feel powerful when I catch people doing sketchy stuff that's not allowed on the network and blocking them. Idk it's just strangely satisfying to see their name and be like "hehe, nice try STEVE"

Designing Whatever You Want

I'm a freelance graphic designer and I love it. Worked with agencies for years, but took a leap into freelancing two years ago and there's no way I'm going back. The work itself is fun, but I also like the business side of it. Landing a new client feels amazing, and seeing them happy with whatever I designed for them is amazing.

Some Jobs Are Too Awesome To Pass Up

Then there are those jobs which, on paper, sound too good to be true.

Then you show up for your first shift and it's all exactly as awesome as you think.

Oh, To Be British

I'm a Butler in private service to an UHNW (ultra high net worth) family. My position is rare in the private service world, as I wear the traditional uniform of a butler and work with other members of staff in a highly formal, non-royal setting.

Aside from the numerous benefits, the family I work for are fantastic, very patient and down to earth, and always go out of their way to express their grattitude. Looking after them and keeping them happy is always surprisingly rewarding, especially when you can correctly predict the needs of your principal before they themselves. The estate is beautiful and seeing it run smoothly fills me with pride.

Although I do have such a thing as a standard working day, there are so many possible variations to the normal routine which keep me on my toes and allow for some much-desired creativity.

And before anyone asks, I am indeed British, though that isn't a prerequisite!

Assisting People In Their Time Of Crisis

I'm a funeral director- truly love my job. Sounds weird I know, but you get to help people during the worst time of their life and it's pretty meaningful to be able to do that. You often see a totally different side of humanity.

There's Nothing Quite Like The Joy Of Teaching

University professor

There's nothing like being in the classroom when the "light" comes on and seeing a student learn a concept or idea. It also happens in our virtual classrooms, but I see this more in online discussions of topics.

mvee2

Teacher.

If it wasn't for the office politics and low salary, it'd be amazing.

Pyrotechnician.

Working with fireworks, cmon! How cool is that? Still feel like a kid at every display I do.
