People Falsely Accused Of Cheating Divulge What Made Their Partner Suspicious

People Falsely Accused Of Cheating Divulge What Made Their Partner Suspicious

Trust and open communication are the key to many successful relationships. But that doesn't mean people are good at those.

Certain behavior patterns and inherent insecurities can lead to suspicion, and if resentment festers without openly addressing these concerns can spell doom for a relationship.
Some people, however, can be reckless when confronting their significant other based on an assumption about infidelity.

Curious to hear from those who were unfairly blamed, Redditor PRIMEVIL567 asked:

"People who have been incorrectly accused of cheating, what was your partner's proof?"

Some accusers were guilty of the very thing they were being accusatory of.

The Questionable Friend

"Her 'proof' was that I was friends with a woman in the same area on Facebook. I did volunteer work at the local hospital, I was friends with a lot of the hospital staff on Facebook. Her accusation came very shortly after my brother caught her on a date with another guy."

– yankstraveler

Projection Is Real

"Well, my GF was huge on projecting. It wasn’t proof and she didn’t directly accuse me of cheating, but it was insinuated. After doing laundry she noticed she didn’t see one of my nice pairs of black boxers. Pretty much her argument/verge of tears was because 'can’t find them' equals 'they must be at another girls house.' And she was dead serious."

"Anyways, they were just behind the laundry hamper. For the time being. After we broke up I found out she was f'king her boss."

"So, projection is real folks."

Pot Calling The Kettle

"She cheated on me and decided that means I must clearly also be cheating."

We all make mistakes.

A Telling Response

"I was deep into a online game and my wife came to me with a bra that definitely wasn't hers. She stood by the door and loudly said 'whoose are these?.' I took what she said as a innocent question, rather than an investigation. I quickly looked over and said 'f'k if I know' and went back to my game."

"She quickly realized that if I had cheated, and she found proof, I would have had a deer in headlights look for a second."

"It was her sister's bra that somehow go into our laundry."

"We laugh about it to this day."

– HalfaManYouAre

Sneaky Laundry

"A pair of my wife’s panties fell out from the leg hole of my pants while I was driving to work. I grab them and shove them in the driver side door pocket and promptly forget about them. Several weeks later we are cleaning out our cars together and she finds them and is like WTF. She doesn’t recognize them as her own. Finally remembers after I scroll through several thousand of my pictures to find a pic of her actually wearing them."

– Zonefluffy

Lost And Found

"She found a necklace in my bed and I didn't know how it got there. Turned out to be her necklace that she had lost and didnt recognize in the dark."

– mr4d

Long-Lost Memory

"I found some sunglasses in my husband's vehicle. Very feminine style. I was a little concerned. I didn't flip because my husband had never given me one reason to doubt him. I did ask though. He said they were mine. I got a little more worried because I had never seen them before that day. I was adamant that they were not mine. In a strange turn of events, I came to remember buying them and leaving them in there. It had just been so long that I had forgotten. tl;dr: I am stupid."

– iamsuperkathy

The Suspicious Folder

"Other way around, actually. I was the suspicious one. We were a middle-aged, long married couple. I was looking for something on his computer (not uncommon. He had a better computer for some things.). I ran into a file called "bedroom shots". WTF!!! I KNEW he had not taken any bedroom shots of me! Opened the file (of course) and it was pictures of our bedroom, just the bedroom, that I had taken years earlier to use for a paint program that changes the colors of the walls. I had named the file myself when redecorating and forgot about it."

– aeraen

Unfortunate Label

"Almost same thing happened to me and my wife when we were first married. Our business does some work for the chicken sandwich place with the cow mascot. Whenever I wrote up an estimate, lazy me would name them ‘Chick01, Chick02, etc’, for the different locations I was quoting. Well, one day, we’re looking for something on the computer and she sees the ‘chick’ files and demands I open them to see what was in them. The look on her face was priceless when the work estimates opened up. This was about 23 years ago, just celebrated 25 years."

– borygoya

Unwarranted Scrutiny

"We were misdiagnosed with HIV and I had been on a business trip in Las Vegas a few months earlier."

"I was getting the evil eye and accused from everyone in the doctors office and from the few friends and family we told. Thankfully my wife only asked once, which I told her the truth, absolutely f'king not. That was good enough for her. 6 weeks and more tests later we get told they were false positives."

"Everyone complemented us on how much we trusted each other. My wife simply replies “He isn’t exactly a ladies man, never has been. He would chicken out before he ever slept with another woman” LOL…she’s right though."

– thisismycleanuser

The Forgotten Evidence

"Husband found a condom wrapper under the couch. He never cleans, so don't know how he found it lol I was stumped. I had no idea. A few weeks prior we had a couple friends over that crashed on our couch of our extremely tiny shoebox apartment."

"Went out with my female friend, (I was also friends with the dude) she tells me she had sex with said friend and they're discussing dating. I asked when and where. She told me that night at my place. I connected all the dots, told her I don't care how low key she wants it kept for now, she is explaining what happened. So we called, she explained they had sex on our couch. Which. I wasn't too thrilled about but I was going crazy wondering where the f'k this condom wrapper came from.."

"Edit: people were confused about the word girlfriend. She is my female friend. I was friends with both of them."

– SSOJ16

These partners were very insecure individuals.

The Neglected Partner

"He installed a key logger on my laptop and found a chat of me politely turning down a guy I'd met (as part of a mutual friend group) a few weeks previous. When I pointed out that he'd found explicit proof that I had in fact not cheated, he went off on a tirade about how I'm never around anymore and never paid attention to him anymore and that was as bad as cheating."

"My father had died four months before. I wasn't around much because between work and school, I had to go back to my home state to clear out his house and deal with the estate. And, you know, spend some time with my remaining family."

"I threw the whole man out."

– half_in_boxes

Chat Room

"Apparently the online support group for my father's brain tumor was a 'chat room' for casual hookups."

"Dad had the tumor. Ex had the insane jealousy."

"Dad didn't survive glioblastoma. Fortunately that was long enough ago to roll my eyes at some of these comments. (Chuck Pahaliuk is an amazing writer. But may your life never bear a slight resemblance to one of his plots)."

"Ex has long since been vamoosed."

– doublestitch

The Female Contacts

"She saw the names of my female family members in my contacts. She freaked out and angrily asked who my stepmother was, my stepsisters, my cousins, my auntie. It lasted about two minutes. She started to realize she was being an idiot, and I realized I didn’t like her anymore."

– NOSRETTAP_RAPS

Suspicious Voices

"She heard a woman in the room laughing through the phone when she called me to accuse me of being out with another woman."

"Turns out there are other people in the world and when you're out in public you just may encounter them."

– Enoch-Of-Nod

Serious Trust Issues

"I had a girl cheat on me and she told me she did it because she thought I was gonna cheat on her so she did it first. Super hot girl thought the world of warcraft nerd was gonna cheat on her."

– Lachigan

They say your gut instincts are spot on.

But if you have suspicions about your significant other being unfaithful, be careful not to jump to conclusions as it could jeopardize the relationship.

Chances are, there may be an explanation. Or maybe not.

I'm no relationship expert, but the point is, think about the source of your trust issues. And if you still think something about your partner is off, it can be helpful to address your concern in a civil manner.

Now, if you actually catch them in the act of having an illicit affair and you know for sure they are guilty, how you unleash your warranted fury is all up to you.

People Who Earn Six Figures Explain What They Do For A Living

Reddit user Luffy_Tuffy asked: 'For everyone making six figures, what do you do for work?'

"I work all night, I work all day to pay the bills I have to pay
Ain't it sad?
And still there never seems to be a single penny left for me
That's too bad"~ "Money, Money, Money" ABBA

Money is either the root of all evil or the key to happiness, largely depending on whether you have any.

So how do people with money get it? One method is a job that pays the bills.

We've all heard of intuition or premonitions or "seeing the future," and a lot of us have laughed at it at some point.

It's easy to disregard these images or feelings as a symptom of anxiety about something coming up.

But for some people, by listening to a gut feeling they had, they were able to save someone's life, possibly even their own.

Redditor guywhousesreddit09 asked:

"What was the 'gut feeling' that you listened to that saved your life?"

The Kiddie Pool

"My mom and grandpa were putting out a kiddie pool for my siblings and me in our backyard when we were little."

"My grandpa had set it up, and my mom kept insisting that for some reason, she felt like they should move it to a different spot."

"Thankfully they did, because while we were all playing in the pool, a huge branch from a tree in our yard snapped and came crashing down exactly where the pool had originally been."

A Questionable Passer-by

"When I was around 13, I was walking to the bus stop in the morning. A car was going through my neighborhood very slowly, which made alarm bells go off in my head."

"When it passed me, I glanced over my shoulder to keep an eye on it and saw it was doing an immediate U-turn."

"I noped right out and dove through the bushes, crossed a bunch of driveways, and found a neighbor who was washing his car."

"I looked back to where I had been standing. The strange car had stopped, a seriously scary-looking dude had gotten out, and was looking in the bushes."

"I don't know if I would've died exactly, but I would not have had a good time."

- Symnestra

'Final Destination,' Who?

"I was driving uphill behind a flatbed truck carrying I-beams and I envisioned them sliding off the truck and hitting my windshield."

"I changed lanes so I wasn’t behind the truck and two seconds later, the I-beams were sliding off onto the road where my car would’ve been, sparking and gouging the pavement. Terrifying."

"To this day, I won’t stay behind a truck with anything that’s 'strapped down.'"

Thank Goodness for That Lock

"In middle school, I was up late one night. My mom and my brother were asleep, and my dad had gone on business. I had let the dog out, and when I went to go get him, I got a bad feeling like someone was out there."

"There wasn't really a reason to feel this way, it was just dark, and I got spooked, so I put the chain lock up on the back door when we got back inside. Back then, we never locked our doors."

"A few minutes later, the dog is drinking by the back door, and he suddenly stops and starts growling (like a low grumble) at the door."

"I was sitting where I could see the dog but not the door. Then I hear the door pull open and the chain lock catch."

"The dog started barking like crazy and I ran upstairs to wake my brother up. He went out and looked around, but no one was there."

"I think the dog's barking scared them away, but I don't know who it was or what would have happened if I hadn't locked the door."

A Mom's Close Encounters

"My grandmother accidentally saved my mom's life by not allowing her to go to a sleepover when she was young. During the night, the father murdered his entire family and would likely have killed my mother had she been there."

"Another amazing coincidence that I'm alive, is when my mother was in high school, she and her best friend were arguing over who was going to take a ride on the back of their guy friends' new motorcycle."

"My mom lost the argument and her friend got on the back of the motorcycle and rode away. She never saw them again because her friend and the guy were both killed in an accident during that ride."

Wait a Second

"It was very late driving and there were minimal cars on the road, I came up to a red light, and as it turned green, something inside me said, 'Don’t go yet,' and a van blew through their red light."

- imbribecca

"Similar situation, but there were four of us in the car. My friend was driving and our friend in the back yelled to stop the car immediately even though we had a green light we were coming up on. A semi blew through a red light. He later said he felt like it wasn’t even him saying it and he had no idea why he yelled it other than a bad feeling."

Mother Knows Best

"Not my life but my son's. I was 33 weeks pregnant and I noticed my son wasn't moving as much as usual. I waited a day and nothing changed."

"Despite advice by doctors and family saying I should just stay home and he wasn't moving as much because he was just running out of room to move, I went into the ER and had my son that night due to fetal distress."

"He had his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck eight times and weighed just three pounds. He spent 30 days in the NICU and now is a happy two-year-old."

- Goatintree

An Insistent Friend

"A friend's feeling saved me from my gut."

"I had just finished hosting a meeting (I swear it was productive) and a friend said, 'You don't look so good.'"

"I had just come off a weekend boat diving in the Red Sea and figured I was just tired. My friend said, 'Nah man, I'm taking you to the doctor.'"

"The doctor at our clinic poked me a few times and said, 'Take him to the ER and tell them it's his appendix.'"

"I was in surgery less than 90 minutes later. My surgeon said I was two to three hours from it blowing up. I lived alone and no one would have missed me until the next day."

A Night Walk

"About two years ago, my dad and I loved going on night walks, It was something we’ve always done more or less every night."

"One night, however, as we were about halfway through our daily route, we got to an alleyway. Now normally, I’ve never thought anything of it, but something this night just told me not to walk through, I had a really bad feeling and I urged my dad to just go back home."

"He kept brushing it off and saying I was just scared of the dark and nothing was going to happen. After a couple of minutes of arguing, we finally turned back and walked home."

"Turns out about 20 minutes after we left, there was a completely random attack in that exact alleyway that left a poor young girl stabbed, thankfully not to death, but with life-changing injuries. I still dread to think what would have happened if we didn’t walk back."

- No_Project6675

Definitely Not a Black Bear

"Up in Northern Pennsylvania, I had a gut feeling I needed to turn around and walk out of the woods I was hiking."

"That turned out to be a good idea because I saw the big cat that was tracking me on my way back out."

"I was hiking a stream up around Emlenton, PA, checking it out to see if it's wadeable for fishing. I didn't know y'all had any wild cats around there; I was just worried about black bears."

- abspencer22

Protecting Her Own

"Years ago, I went into my garden at night, after my husband had left for a road trip minutes before, and saw a pair of sneakers in the dark, in the gap between the fence and our house."

"I didn’t think, I just said very loudly, 'What are you doing there?' When he didn’t reply, I shouted, 'GET OUT OF MY GARDEN!'"

"He muttered, 'Yes, ma’am,' and scuttled off. Also not thinking, I picked up a BBQ knife that happened to be right there, went through the house to the front windows, and saw him crouched by my car in the driveway."

"I called the cops, they arrived, and we discovered that someone, probably the same dude, had just broken into our neighbor’s house and stolen a gun."

"The cops gave me a condescending talking-to about the ‘risks’ of confronting a criminal, but I am convinced to this day that my instincts saved me from a life-altering and horrible experience. We humans are animals and one animal knows when another will fight like h**l."

"We got an alarm system after that. And the guy came back several weeks later. I looked up to see him on our porch, about twenty feet from the sidewalk. Called the cops again. They sent a SWAT team this time. And a helicopter."

"They got the guy."

- Fair_Leadership76

Medicinal Negligence

"I was pregnant in the very early weeks (five or six weeks), and started getting these intense pains on the right side of my abdomen. Like so extremely painful that I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t make noise or move."

"I went to my doctor the next day, and he said I was being hysterical and it’s completely normal to be in pain when you’re pregnant. He refused to get me to an OB-GYN, and said I could go private if it was such a big deal."

"I went to a private scan, and my pregnancy was ectopic (stuck in my fallopian tube), and my tube had ruptured and I was bleeding internally. I was rushed to the hospital and had surgery to remove my tube that night."

"If I hadn’t booked that scan, I would have died in my sleep that night due to internal bleeding."

""I reported him for negligence."

Potential Robbery

"A guy asked me for help with bus fare and offered to take me to an ATM. I got a bad feeling and dipped. Then I saw him on the news a week later for robbing somebody at gunpoint."

A Chillingly Close Call

"My wife was going to go on a road trip with friends down to a bigger city for a concert. She had done this several times before."

"Friends were close friends of ours but for some reason, I felt off about it that one day. I said to her, 'Babe, I don’t know why and you can ignore me if you’d like, but I don’t think you should go. I don’t know why, but I feel like something is going to happen.'"

"She knows I’d never tell her not to do anything she wanted. It was out of the blue and out of character for me. So she decided to stay home and watch movies with me."

"About two hours later after the rest of the crew left, we got a phone call that they had gotten into a severe accident. Two friends were in the hospital and someone from the other vehicle died on the scene. Had she gone along, she would have been sitting in the seat where they had been hit by the other driver and most likely killed."

"Someone, somewhere, somehow was warning me. And I’m glad we both listened to it."

- Sperryxd

Always Stop to Look at the Rainbow

"I was driving along a rough mountain road heading home from work. The mountain pass ends at a lake, and you drive around the lake to meet up with the main road."

"I got to the bottom of the mountain and started down the lake road, and saw this stunning bright rainbow over the lake."

"I had this weird gut feeling and urge to stop and look at it, with the way the sun was shining, it didn’t make sense that there would be a rainbow, but it was mesmerizing. So I stopped and stared at it in awe."

"A couple of seconds later, as soon as I looked back at the road, a massive boulder came barreling down off the cliff above about 20 meters in front of me, hit the road, and smoked all of the concrete barriers as it went into the lake. I 100% would have been killed if I hadn’t stopped."

- Epantz

These accounts gave us absolute chills as we read about other people's close calls.

We never know when our time will be up, so we absolutely have to be careful with the time that we have.

When discussing love and relationships, the motto is usually less is more.

But what if there is more of one partner?

Being involved with identical twins can be quite the experience.

Can you really tell them apart?

Is everything identical?

If you're attracted to one, aren't you automatically attracted to the other?

So many questions.

Now we need some answers.

Redditor nicknamesofdaveryder wanted to hear about love and the twin experience, so they asked:

"Redditors who married someone with an identical twin sibling, why are you glad you're not with the other twin instead?"

I've never met a lot of twins, let alone gotten involved with a pair.

I have questions.

Hopefully I get some answers.

Falling Asleep

"Story time! I am an identical twin (we still look so much alike!) and one night I spent the night at her house. She and I fell asleep in the same bed because we were up late talking, etc. Her husband slept on the couch. The next morning my twin went to take a shower and her husband laid down on the bed with me (thinking it was her of course). I jokingly said 'Hey sailor, looking for a little variety?' He shot off the bed and said 'If I was looking for variety, do you think I'd choose you??'"

The Good Guy And The Other One

"I didn't marry him but I dated an identical twin. His twin's girlfriend and I used to joke around that she got the evil twin. He was just a selfish, messed-up person. One of the benefits of breaking up with my boyfriend was no longer having his twin in my life. Plus, his ex gf and I are still great friends! The good guy was just the lesser evil. She wanted to get as far away from that family as I did. The best thing to come out of those relationships was our friendship."

Love Wins

"My dad's an identical twin. People have a hard time distinguishing them, but to my mom and me, they look like two completely different people because of the way they walk/talk/etc. Obviously, my mom only fell in love with this one person. When you love someone it's actually pretty easy to tell identical twins apart."

Triplets GIF by RuPaul's Drag RaceGiphy

"I work with a guy who married an identical triplet, one of the triplets also works with us. I asked him one day if it was weird working with someone who looked just like his wife. He got a little pissed and basically said they are all very different people and he doesn't see much of his wife in her."

He's Evil

"We’re not married but known each other since we were 12 and have been together 3 and a half years. His twin is a massive di**head who tried to break us up multiple times, was madly in love with me in his own words, and after 2 years of pursuing me declared I was a terrible person and put him through hell. Because I didn’t break up with his TWIN BROTHER to date him."

Life Choices

"My husband and his twin brother look very different to me, although they are identical and get mistaken for one another all the time. They couldn’t be more different in terms of personality. They have different values and life goals, hobbies, one is introverted and the other is extroverted. If they were two people who didn’t look alike, I would automatically not be attracted to my brother-in-law simply because we are not remotely compatible personality-wise."

"Also they have very different styles. I do not find the way my husband’s twin dresses/grooms his hair attractive. It’s so wild to me when people can’t tell them apart because they couldn’t be more different in my eyes."

Opposites

"Well, my wife and I have been together for 30 years. She has a 'mirror' twin. Even now, if you don’t know them well or interact frequently you will not be able to tell them apart. They are complete opposites. I married the extrovert, she has never met a stranger, will try anything at least once, and can find a positive aspect in almost everything she encounters, they are also best friends, my wife drags her sister along all the time."

"Once she’s out she enjoys our activities. I love my SIL, all three of them, but so glad I married the one like me. The mirror part even goes for looks, when I see my wife’s reflection I see my SIL, it’s weird sometimes. Also, attitude and personality are everything, I have never been 'attracted' to her twin."
