As far as dogs who get themselves locked out go, this ones a genius. In a video, uploaded to YouTube by Greg Basel via Storyful, an adorable golden retriver gets itself stuck outside the house, but makes several adorable attempts to get back inside, all captured on the house's nest cam!

Honestly, how many pooches would think to try ringing the doorbell (which makes the sound of a person knocking)? Unfortunately, the pup's scratching, doorbell ringing, and mugging for the camera weren't enough to gain him entry.

Twitter was seriously in love with this doorbell-ringing canine!

There's no conceivable reason why a person wouldn't answer this door.

Twitter knew the dog was a good boy. Please let him in!

Some had had similar experiences...

But even if they hadn't, literally everyone thought the hidden camera footage was essential viewing.

The only remaining question: what would the dog do if the door opened just like he wanted?

This dog wins the coveted "Dog of the Day" award, as far as we're concerned. Congratulations, pup, you've earned it!

Believe it or not, Canadians don't live in igloos or freeze to death all year round. If you go to Germany, it's highly unlikely that every German you meet will be cold and uninviting. Hop over to the United Kingdom and you're not going to run into tons of people with terrible teeth and bad hygeine.

These are called stereotypes, my friends, and it's best you leave them at the door. People were more than willing to strike down some stereotypes about the countries they know and love after Redditor HelloThere577 asked the online community,

"What are some false stereotypes about your country?"
