It's unbelievable what some people do in public. Some things are mere pet peeves, but others just make you wonder if that person has any semblance of shame. Here are a few examples of both sides of this, showing the annoying things that people manage to do in front of others.

u/Bigderp23 asked: What is one thing you hate when people do it in public?

Get out of the way!

Stand in everybody's way, completely ignorant of their surroundings. Even worse when they start to congregate.

ToastAndASideOfToast

I swear some people have no idea there are other people. Zero situational awareness.

MidwestAmMan

Have you heard of headphones?

Giphy

Listen to music out loud. I don't wanna hear your sh*t in the train.

saltycaroline

Definitely not while hiking through the woods. I once passed a guy on a trail with a boom box on his shoulder. It was 2017.

People do this?

Litter.

Find a trash can dammit!

wazzle13

Litter annoys me on the regular but these days people are especially atrocious with gloves - every grocery run has us walking a maze between used gloves that people strip off and dump on the ground.

There are trash cans everywhere in this city, why is this necessary?

BadTanJob

This is infuriating.

People coughing and not covering their mouth really pisses me off.

Had to pick up a prescription today from a store in town. The town centre was pretty much dead as expected but I was still wearing my mask - managed to get one with N99 filters a while back for cycling. Along comes a guy, wandering in my direction despite there being a lot of space where he could've walked and coughed at the exact moment he walked by me.

Luckily I managed to divert a bit to keep at least the 2 meters before he got near. He only half heartedly covered his mouth with his hand. Of all times, of all places to cough he choose to walk nearby and do it. Absolute f*cking twit.

Oh and the real kicker is that prescription was for my immune compromised partner. He needed the meds very quickly (sudden flair in his condition, which makes him even more immune compromised) which was the only reason I risked going out. If the phrase 'for f*ck's sake' could've been summed up in an expression it would have been the look I gave that guy.

XCinnamonbun

These are the worst kinds of people.

Giphy

Raging at waiters/waitresses at restaurants. That gives me mad second-hand embarrassment like chill.

kai-plays

Showtime!

Being pointlessly loud.

"EXCUSE ME LADIES AND GENTLEMEN CAN I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE..."

Nope! It's a sure way to get me the hell off of that train car as soon as possible though

glowdirt

Ugh.

Play music loudly on their phone, or loudly watching videos at a restaurant.

ravenpotter3

Yes to this.

Giphy

Talking loudly on the phone.

platypus_man_

...especially if they're holding the phone away from their ear using the speaker setting.

tosna

Adults do this?

Scream. Throw a tantrum.

NOHELP4ME

Little kids? Whatever, kids are loud for a lot of reasons, you can be annoyed by them but you have to accept it's an inevitable consequence of sharing space with them.

Adults? What the f*ck is your problem? How have you failed so hard as a grown-*ss man/woman that you're shrieking and stamping your feet for all the neighbors to see? You're a nightmare, nobody should want to be around you.

fancyfrenchtoilet

Why do people do this?

People who stand too close behind you when you're in a line. I'm talking in general without six foot distancing.

VegetarianBac0n

This is why when I'm checking out at the store I enter the line first, and pull my cart behind me to physically block people.

We get it, we're all super busy, and sometimes it's really hard to get all the chores done around work and living our lives.

But there are appliances we can have in our home, like a dishwasher, that can make those chores much more convenient.

However, they could really ruin our day, too, if we use them incorrectly.

TV enthusiasts could argue that shows on television are a more compelling and superior form for media entertainment.

A story arc can be played out to its fullest potential without shortchanging the audience with a two-and-a-half hour duration of a film.

While movies are in their own category, TV shows–including short miniseries–can engage an audience over a span of seasons as long as there is more stories to tell.

Some TV shows break away from the formula and can feature anthology–or standalone–episodes that are impressive in their own right.

Everyone has insecurities.

Be it speaking in public, wearing beach attire, or even one's profession, very few people don't have at least one topic of conversation that is bound to make them red in the face.

Some people are pretty adept at hiding their discomfort and can manage to persevere through their phobias with their dignity intact.

Others are not so lucky and often go to great lengths to hide their insecurities, only to make them even more apparent.

Every family has customs or traditions which are unique to them.

Be it all gathering together to watch The Muppet Christmas Carol every Christmas eve or an annual fried chicken picnic with dark and stormies every fourth of July. They are well aware not everyone does this, which makes it all the more special.

However, depending on the way it was introduced to them, some children are raised to think certain customs or habits done by their family are, indeed, normal.

Only to grow up and realize that theirs might have been the only family in the world which partook in them.

In some cases, this discovery is met with laughs and maybe the tiniest bit of embarrassment.

Other times, it's no laughing matter.
